Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon's Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya 2 Is In Development

Mumbai, April 2 – After the success of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, the sequel of the robot rom-com is reportedly in development at Maddock Films. The original film, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, struck a chord with audiences for its fresh blend of romance and futuristic storytelling. The film's open-ended climax left ample room for a continuation, something the makers are now keen to explore as Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya 2 is now in development, with plans underway to expand the film's unique sci-fi romantic universe. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) According to the report by Pinkvilla, the sequel is currently in the writing stage under Maddock Films. The script is expected to be locked in the coming months, following which the film will move into pre-production. Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon are set to reprise their roles, continuing the unconventional love story that formed the heart of the first instalment. Additionally, Janhvi Kapoor is likely to have a more substantial role in the sequel after her brief appearance in the climax of the original film, hinting at a larger narrative arc. The sequel is said to pick up from where the first film ended, while significantly expanding the scale and stakes. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) With advancements in technology and deeper exploration of artificial intelligence themes, the second part aims to deliver a more ambitious cinematic experience. While an official shooting timeline is yet to be announced, the film is tentatively expected to go on floors in early 2027. With a returning star cast and a bigger vision, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya 2 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated sequels in the romantic sci-fi space.

Ajay Devgn and Om Raut Reunite for New Unsung Maratha Warrior Film After Tanhaji — Unsung Warrior Franchise Set to Expand

In a significant development in Bollywood, Ajay Devgn and Om Raut are reportedly in advanced talks to reunite after the blockbuster success of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. According to Bollywood Hungama, the duo is planning another historical epic that will celebrate the valour of an unsung Maratha warrior, potentially expanding the Unsung Warrior franchise. Ajay Devgn and Om Raut first collaborated on Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior in 2020, which went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year and remains one of the highest-grossing films of Ajay Devgn’s career. Since then, there has been consistent speculation around taking the Unsung Warrior concept forward with new stories rooted in Indian history. Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior was not just a successful collaboration but also a major box office blockbuster. The film collected around ₹279.59 crore India net, ₹325 crore India gross, and ₹361 crore worldwide, including ₹36 crore from overseas markets. It emerged as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2020 and performed exceptionally well, particularly in the Maharashtra circuit where it recorded massive footfalls. The film also showed strong box office legs, continuing to perform for more than a month despite new releases and competition. Apart from its commercial success, the film was widely praised for its visual effects, action sequences, background score, and performances, which played a major role in its long theatrical run and blockbuster verdict. As per the report, Ajay Devgn had been waiting for the right story to continue the franchise, and when Om Raut approached him with a narrative centered on another unsung Maratha warrior, the actor reportedly showed immediate interest. The development indicates that the project is being envisioned as a large-scale historical film with a strong emotional and patriotic core. The film is currently in the early stages of development, with discussions focused on budgeting, scale, and visual execution. According to Bollywood Hungama, Ajay Devgn has asked for a detailed plan, including the projected cost and VFX requirements, before taking the project forward. The development work is said to be happening at his VFX company, NY VFXWala, with a focus on building a strong cinematic world. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Multiple meetings have reportedly taken place between Ajay Devgn and Om Raut, and both are said to be aligned on the vision of creating a franchise based on unsung warriors rather than a direct sequel to Tanhaji. The idea is to explore different stories from Indian history, particularly from the Maratha era, and present them on a national scale. Interestingly, Ajay Devgn had earlier hinted at expanding the Unsung Warrior concept into a larger cinematic universe, suggesting that Tanhaji was just the beginning. This new development appears to be in line with that vision, with the makers aiming to bring another lesser-known historical figure to the big screen. While there is no official announcement yet, the report suggests that discussions are progressing steadily and an announcement could happen once the budget and production roadmap are finalized. If the project materializes, it could mark another major historical film for Bollywood and further strengthen the space for large-scale period dramas in the industry.

While several films have entered this elite club, only a handful of filmmakers and actors have managed to achieve this feat more than once. Among directors, S. S. Rajamouli stands tall as a pioneer of mega-blockbusters. Known for delivering cinematic spectacles on a grand scale, Rajamouli has repeatedly pushed the boundaries of Indian cinema, setting new records with multiple 1000 crore grossers. It was his Baahubali 2 (2017), which first entered this club (without China), and he repeated this glory with his next, RRR (2022). (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Joining him in this rare league is just a three-film-old director, Aditya Dhar, whose recent successes have firmly established him as one of the most bankable filmmakers in the industry today. Dhar has delivered two back-to-back 1000 crore grossers in the span of just 4 months in the form of Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2. On the acting front (lead role), the list is equally impressive. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, often referred to as the "King of Bollywood," has reaffirmed his superstar status with multiple films crossing the 1000 crore milestone in the form of Pathaan and Jawan, showcasing his enduring global appeal. Meanwhile, Prabhas continues to be a pan-India phenomenon, with his larger-than-life roles resonating strongly with audiences across regions. Dhurandhar Viewership On Netflix Continues To Surge Amid Record-Breaking Box Office Run of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge

Mumbai, April 1 - The blockbuster wave of Dhurandhar shows no signs of slowing down, neither in theatres nor on OTT. As Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues its historic run at the global box office, the first instalment, Dhurandhar, is witnessing an unprecedented surge in viewership on Netflix, especially after the release of the sequel in theatres. Even since The Revenge was released on March 19, the viewership of Dhurandhar is witnessing an upward trend on Netflix, and the reasons are obvious - the ever-growing anticipation for part 2, and immense recall value. In its 9th week, Dhurandhar generated an insane 3 million views, up by 30% from the 8th week, pushing total views to 29.30 million. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) After the 1300+ crores box office run, Dhurandhar debuted on Netflix with 7.6 million views in the first weekend, followed by a peak of 8.2 million views in the second week, indicating explosive word-of-mouth and growing curiosity around the franchise. After the explosive start, the viewership eventually slowed down in the following weeks. Come the 8th week, when Dhurandhar 2 was released, the film witnessed 130% rise in views, followed by another 30% jump in the 9th week. Reportedly, Dhurandhar is currently the fifth most-watched Indian film on Netflix, after films like RRR, Jawan, and Gangubai Kathiawadi. It has been trending in the top 10 in 10 countries this week, and it has been continuing for 9 weeks. Interestingly, most of the top-viewed films on Netflix were theatrical releases and were box office hits, and Dhurandhar is no different. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, has already crossed 1400 crores at the worldwide box office, including over 1000 crores domestically in just 13 days. It is currently the 4th highest-grossing Indian film of all-time, and is on course to finish in the top 3. It is one of the only 4 films ever to reach 1000 crore gross at the Indian box office.

Ranbir Kapoor Had Rejected Lord Rama's Role In Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, And Then This Happened

Mumbai, April 1 - Director Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is the biggest Indian film in the making. It stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, alongside Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Laxman. However, in a surprising turn of events, Ranbir revealed that he initially rejected the role, and the reason is deep. During the recent first look teaser event in the US, the actor was present along with Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra. Explaining the reason why he initially rejected and later accepted the role, Ranbir said, "I remember when Namit offered me this part around 4 years ago, my instant reaction was 'No', I'm not fit enough, not good enough, and I won't be able to do full justice". (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The role, offered by producer Namit Malhotra for an ambitious adaptation, came with immense responsibility, something Ranbir wasn't immediately ready to embrace. However, what changed everything for Ranbir was a very personal thing, which was becoming a father. The actor shared how this life-altering experience gave him a new perspective and emotional depth. "Then I became a father. I think the sweet coincidence of playing Lord Rama and becoming a father was needed for a turning point in my life," the Brahmastra actor said. Ranbir married actress Alia Bhatt in April 2022, and the couple has a daughter named Raha. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) This shift in mindset eventually led Ranbir Kapoor to accept the divine role, which is now shaping up to be one of the most significant performances of his career. With Ramayana mounted on a massive scale and backed by a strong creative vision, expectations are sky-high. What started as self-doubt has now transformed into a deeply personal and defining journey for Ranbir, one that audiences are eagerly waiting to witness on the big screen. The first look teaser of Ramayan will be released on April 2nd. It is produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studio with Yash's Monster Mind Creations. The VFX is done by DNEG, while the music is composed by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer.

Dhurandhar 2 vs Dangal, Baahubali 2, Pushpa 2 Box Office Analysis:Can It Bridge the 25–30% Gap To Dangal Without China Release? Bollywood

Dhurandhar 2 vs Dangal, Baahubali 2, Pushpa 2 Box Office Analysis:Can It Bridge the 25–30% Gap To Dangal Without China Release?

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is currently rewriting box office history and has already entered the all-time top 5 highest grossing Indian films worldwide. After Day 12, the film has collected approximately ₹1,044.20 crore India gross, ₹872.17 crore India net, and ₹1,394.20 crore worldwide gross. With these numbers, the film currently stands in the 4th position in the all-time worldwide gross list, behind Dangal, Baahubali 2, and Pushpa 2. To understand whether Dhurandhar 2 can become the highest grossing Indian film of all time, it is important to compare the current top films. Dangal remains the highest grossing Indian film worldwide with around ₹2,070 crore globally, largely boosted by its massive China run where it alone collected over ₹1,300 crore. Baahubali 2 collected around ₹1,788 crore worldwide, while Pushpa 2 collected around ₹1,742 crore worldwide. Dhurandhar 2 currently stands at ₹1,394 crore worldwide and is rapidly closing the gap. If we compare India gross collections, Pushpa 2 leads with around ₹1,471 crore India gross, followed by Baahubali 2 at around ₹1,416 crore India gross. Dhurandhar 2 has already crossed ₹1,044 crore India gross in just 12 days, which means it still has a strong chance of crossing Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2 India gross totals if the trend continues for another 2–3 weeks. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Language Wise India Net Contribution Comparison MOVIE NAME HINDI TELUGU TAMIL KANNADA MALAYALAM TOTAL INDIA NET Pushpa 2 ₹ 812.14 Cr ₹ 341.48 Cr ₹ 58.56 Cr ₹ 7.77 Cr ₹ 14.15 Cr ₹ 1,234.10 Cr Baahubali 2 ₹ 510.99 Cr ₹ 338.80 Cr ₹ 125.85 Cr ₹ 0 Cr ₹ 54.78 Cr ₹ 1,030.42 Cr Dhurandhar 2 ₹ 818.04 Cr ₹ 35.42 Cr ₹ 15.35 Cr ₹ 1.98 Cr ₹ 1.38 Cr ₹ 872.17 Cr One of the most important comparisons comes from language contribution. Pushpa 2 had a massive contribution from Hindi markets, contributing more than ₹800 crore net alone, while Telugu contributed around ₹341 crore. Baahubali 2, on the other hand, had a more balanced distribution with Hindi contributing around ₹510 crore, Telugu around ₹338 crore, Tamil around ₹125 crore, and Malayalam around ₹54 crore. Dhurandhar 2 shows a very different trend. Out of its ₹872 crore India net so far, Hindi alone has contributed around ₹818 crore, which is an extremely high dependency on a single language market. Telugu has contributed around ₹35 crore, Tamil around ₹15 crore, Kannada around ₹2 crore, and Malayalam around ₹1.5 crore approximately. This clearly shows that Dhurandhar 2 is primarily driven by the Hindi market, unlike Baahubali 2 which had strong multi-language support. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) This language distribution is both a strength and a drawback. The strength is that the Hindi market alone is driving the film towards historic numbers. The drawback is that the South language markets are contributing very little compared to Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2, which had strong Telugu and Tamil markets supporting the overall total. Another major drawback for Dhurandhar 2 is the absence of a Gulf release. The Gulf market is extremely important for mass action films and big event films, and skipping this market could result in a loss of ₹200–250 crore potential overseas gross. This could directly affect the film's chances of competing with Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2 worldwide totals. However, it is also important to note that Dangal's worldwide total is heavily dependent on China collections. During its initial India and overseas run (without China), Dangal's worldwide total was much lower. The China release later pushed it to the ₹2,000 crore mark. This means Dhurandhar 2's current worldwide total should be compared with the non-China phase of Dangal for a fair comparison. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Based on current trends, Dhurandhar 2 is almost certain to cross Pushpa 2 worldwide total and Challenging Baahubali 2 is difficult but still achievable depending on long-term theatrical run - If the film maintains strong third and fourth week collections. The Dangal record, however, is a different benchmark altogether due to its massive China contribution, and whether Dhurandhar 2 can reach that level remains a pure wait and watch scenario at this stage. In conclusion, Dhurandhar 2 is currently on track to finish in the Top 3 highest grossing Indian films of all time worldwide and could potentially finish at Rank 2 if the current trend continues. The film's biggest strengths are its historic Hindi market performance and strong weekday holds, while the biggest drawbacks are weak South language contributions and the absence of Gulf market collections. The final worldwide ranking will largely depend on how long the Hindi market sustains and whether the film gets additional overseas market releases in the coming weeks.

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge Downs Dhurandhar To Become Biggest Hindi Net Grosser

Mumbai, March 31 - In less than two weeks, director Aditya Dhar's spy action thriller Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has outnumbered its predecessor to become the highest-grossing film in Hindi at the domestic box office, and is now marching towards the 1000 crore club. Released four months ago, Dhurandhar stormed the box office with record-breaking numbers and eventually became the biggest Hindi net grosser with 840 crores, beating Pushpa 2's 812 crores. However, the record didn't last long as Dhurandhar 2 has climbed to number 1 in just 13 days. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The Ranveer Singh-starrer scored around 818 crores net in 12 days, and on its second Tuesday (13th day), the film is looking to earn around 25 crores in Hindi. This will take its total Hindi net past the first film, effectively making it the biggest Hindi blockbuster of all-time. The pace at which Dhurandhar: The Revenge is breaking records is remarkable. While it always looked like it would become the biggest blockbuster after the massive success of Dhurandhar, no one saw it doing this in under two weeks, which is something for the history books. Dhurandhar 2 vs Jawan vs Pathaan vs Animal Box Office Thread; Complete Day-wise Breakdown, Opening Records and Total Collection Comparison

🟢 OFFICIAL ACTUALS: (SECOND MONDAY) The Second Monday Hold: Dhurandhar 2 Becomes All-Time No. 2 Recording a ₹23.50 Cr Hindi net on its eleventh day, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has registered the second-highest Second Monday in history. With a cumulative India net of ₹818.04 Cr and a worldwide gross of ₹1,392.23 Cr, the film is now trailing only the original Dhurandhar in terms of post-weekend theatrical endurance. The Second Monday performance of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge confirms a high-velocity trend that is now exclusive to this franchise. By netting ₹23.50 Cr in its Hindi version, the film has comfortably secured the No. 2 spot on the all-time leaderboard for the Second Monday, outperforming recent heavyweights like Pushpa 2: The Rule (₹20.50 Cr) and Stree 2 (₹18.50 Cr). While it remains approximately ₹7 Cr shy of the freakish hold recorded by the first Dhurandhar (₹30.50 Cr), the performance indicates a massive market saturation that remains largely unaffected by the typical post-weekend drop-off. The domestic standing currently reflects an India net of ₹818.04 Cr. More importantly, the film has managed to widen the gap against other 2023-2025 titans. Comparing the standardized Second Monday Hindi baseline,Dhurandhar 2 is operating at a 65% higher volume than Jawan (₹14.25 Cr) and nearly 80% higher than Animal (₹13.12 Cr). This shift suggests that the event-film baseline for working Mondays has moved from the ₹10–12 Cr range to the ₹20 Cr+ bracket for the very top-tier productions. With a worldwide cumulative of ₹1,392.23 Cr, the project is now entering a territory where it will begin challenging the lifetime totals of the industry's biggest global earners. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) SECOND MONDAY ANALYSIS AND ALL-TIME ENDURANCE BENCHMARKS Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge (Second Monday): On its eleventh day of release, the film has recorded the second-highest Second Monday in history, netting ₹23.50 Cr in its Hindi version. While it trails the all-time record set by the first Dhurandhar (₹30.50 Cr), the performance is exceptional as it marks only the second time a film has breached the 20-crore threshold on this specific day.The film's cumulative worldwide gross of ₹1,392.23 Cr has already surpassed the entire lifetime collection of the original Dhurandhar (₹1,307.35 Cr), indicating a significantly higher overall velocity in the current run. The 2023-24 Benchmarks (Second Monday): The standardized Second Monday rankings highlight the massive gap Dhurandhar 2 has created against the previous year's titans. Jawan (Rank 8) recorded a ₹14.25 Cr Hindi net on its second Monday, while Animal (Rank 10) followed closely with ₹13.12 Cr. By outperforming these benchmarks by nearly ₹10 Cr per day, Dhurandhar 2 has effectively reset the expectations for mid-week theatrical endurance, proving that the market can now sustain high-volume footfalls well into the second week of a blockbuster run. Pathaan (Second Monday): Occupying Rank 22 on the all-time list for this specific day, Pathaan netted ₹8.25 Cr from its Hindi version. Despite being the foundational blockbuster of the post-pandemic era, its Second Monday hold is now being outpaced by Dhurandhar 2 by a factor of nearly 3:1. This comparison underscores a tectonic shift in the baseline for working-day holds, as the industry moves toward a new era of hyper-scaled theatrical economics where even a standardized Monday is expected to perform like a traditional opening day. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) ARCHIVE: THE WEEK 1 MARKET RESET The opening seven days of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge executed a historical market reset, establishing a level of theatrical velocity previously considered unattainable in the Indian market. By closing its standardized first week with an unprecedented Hindi net of ₹546.04 Cr, the film became the first project in cinematic history to breach the ₹500 Cr mark in a single language within just seven days. This trajectory resulted in a massive compression of box office milestones; notably, the film bypassed the ₹915 Cr global lifetime gross of Animal in less than 144 hours, signaling a new era where the opening week itself acts as the definitive marker for all-time historical success. This performance fundamentally redefined the benchmarks established by the industry's previous high-water marks. Under standardized 7-day tracking, Jawan and Pathaan had established Hindi net baselines of ₹327.88 Cr and ₹318.5 Cr respectively, while Animal concluded its first week with a ₹300.81 Cr Hindi net. Dhurandhar 2 outstripped these figures by a staggering margin of over 60%, effectively normalizing the ₹100-crore daily net and maintaining high-occupancy levels through the crucial weekday stretch. Collectively, these week-one performances illustrate the evolution of the domestic box office, with Dhurandhar 2 now operating on a scale that has reset the industry's baseline for theatrical potential. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) ARCHIVE: THE DAY 3 WEEKEND EXPLOSION While Day 2 is historically about stabilization, Day 3 acts as the definitive litmus test for a film's peak theatrical capacity. For Dhurandhar 2, this day marked a historic Saturday Explosion, where a 40% growth in occupancy pushed it to a ₹113 Cr India net. In doing so, it became the first Hindi film to breach the psychological ₹100 Cr single-day barrier from its Hindi version alone (₹105 Cr). This unprecedented surge redefined the 3-day weekend trajectory, reaching a worldwide gross of ₹550 Cr in record time. This feat builds upon the benchmarks set by Jawan and Animal, both of which breached the ₹200 Cr domestic net milestone on their respective third days. Jawan shattered records on its first Saturday with a ₹77.83 Cr net, while Animal delivered a monster Sunday performance with ₹71.46 Cr and a massive 68.5% Hindi occupancy. In contrast, the market scenario for Pathaan on Day 3 was a test of resilience; following a massive Republic Day holiday, it faced a working Friday. While domestic collections saw a natural dip to ₹39.25 Cr, a massive overseas surge of ₹43.20 Cr ($5.30M) ensured it reached the ₹313 Cr worldwide mark within 72 hours. Collectively, these Day 3 performances represent the moment these titles transitioned from mere hits to cultural juggernauts. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) ARCHIVE: THE DAY 2 STABILIZATION The second day of a high-stakes release serves as the primary indicator of its long-term theatrical resilience, and for Dhurandhar 2, this phase marked a historical 48-hour sprint. By successfully navigating its first working Friday with immense holding power, the film became the fastest in history to cross the ₹200 Cr India Net mark within just two days. This performance highlights a massive compression of box office timelines, as the film maintained high-velocity occupancy levels across national multiplex chains to cement its record-breaking trajectory. This stabilization phase benchmarks significantly higher than the Day 2 surges of previous industry titans. Jawan showed incredible resilience on its first Friday, amassing a ₹128.23 Cr India Net and reaching a ₹239.47 Cr worldwide gross within 48 hours. Similarly, Animal witnessed a rare 3-4% growth on its second day despite a record-breaking start, pushing its domestic net to ₹130.07 Cr. For Pathaan, the stabilization was fueled by a massive 23% holiday jump during Republic Day, providing the backbone for its historic global opening weekend. Collectively, these Day 2 performances represent the transition from opening-day momentum to sustained market consolidation, with Dhurandhar 2 now setting a new, hyper-scaled baseline for the industry. It began with Pathaan, which shattered post-pandemic skepticism by normalizing the ₹50Cr+ start. This momentum was amplified by Jawan, which successfully integrated the North-South markets with record-breaking dub performances, while Animal proved that raw, high-stakes storytelling could command monster numbers even in a non-holiday window. Dhurandhar 2 now stands at the peak of this progression, combining massive opening day numbers, sustained weekend growth, and record-breaking single-day collections in Hindi, ultimately setting new benchmarks for opening weekend collections and redefining the scale of the Bollywood Industry.

Bhooth Bangla Runtime Revealed: The Horror-Comedy Set To Be Akshay Kumar's One of The Longest Films

Mumbai, March 31 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of his much-awaited horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla. The film, which was earlier scheduled to release on April 10, is now reportedly being pushed to April 17 to maintain a healthy gap from Dhurandhar 2, which continues to dominate the box office across the country. Bhooth Bangla marks the much-anticipated reunion of Akshay Kumar with acclaimed filmmaker Priyadarshan, making it one of the most exciting collaborations in recent times. Even though the film is still over two weeks away from release, a key update regarding its runtime has surfaced. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the film is expected to have a runtime of approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes (170 minutes). However, since the censor certification is still pending, the final duration may vary slightly. The confirmed runtime will be known closer to the release date. If the rumoured runtime indeed gets locked, it will be among Akshay Kumar's longest films in the last 12 years. The last Akshay Kumar film with a similar run time was Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014), which was also 2 hours and 50 minutes long. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Meanwhile, fans are eagerly awaiting the trailer, which is expected to drop this week. It was initially planned for March 27 and later shifted to March 30, and this delay further hinted at a possible change in the release date, though an official announcement is still awaited. Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Cape of Good Films, the film also stars Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Manoj Joshi, Mithila Palkar, Asrani, and Rajesh Sharma in key roles. Dhurandhar 2 Drops 23% on 2nd Monday vs Part 1, Yet Dominates Worldwide; Rare Franchise Trend Backed by Massive BMS Sales

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is rewriting box office history across India and overseas, but its Day 12 trend has thrown up a rare and surprising statistic — one that goes against the usual sequel dominance pattern seen in major film franchises. On its 2nd Monday (Day 12), Dhurandhar 2 collected ₹25.30 crore net across 17,614 shows, with the Hindi net alone contributing ₹23.50 crore. While these numbers are strong by industry standards, they fall short when compared to Dhurandhar Part 1, which had collected ₹30.50 crore on its 2nd Monday. This indicates an approximate drop of around 23% compared to the prequel at the same stage. What makes this trend even more surprising is the fact that Dhurandhar 2 has already surpassed the lifetime collections of its predecessor by a massive margin. By its 2nd Monday, the sequel had raced past ₹1,042.23 crore India gross and ₹872.17 crore India net, while its worldwide total had reached ₹1,392.23 crore, including ₹350 crore from overseas markets. For comparison, Dhurandhar Part 1 had collected ₹381.25 crore India net by its 2nd Monday, with a worldwide total of ₹588 crore and ₹130.50 crore coming from overseas markets during the same period. Despite Dhurandhar 2's massive overall lead in collections, the 2nd Monday trend clearly shows that the original film had a stronger hold on that specific weekday. This unusual pattern is further highlighted by BookMyShow ticket sales data for the 2nd Monday, where Dhurandhar registered 571K ticket sales, significantly ahead of Dhurandhar 2, which recorded 375K ticket sales. Other major films like Chhaava (371K), Jawan (294K), and Stree 2 (233K) followed behind, reinforcing how strong the original Dhurandhar's weekday traction was. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Franchise Movies – 2nd Monday India Net Collection Comparison FRANCHISE PREQUEL – 2nd MONDAY SEQUEL – 2nd MONDAY Dhurandhar ₹ 30.50 Cr ₹ 25.30 Cr Pushpa ₹ 4.70 Cr ₹ 26.95 Cr Baahubali ₹ 3.80 Cr ₹ 30.00 Cr In most major franchises, sequels tend to outperform prequels across all phases, including weekdays, due to higher hype and wider reach. Films like Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2 saw consistent growth over their predecessors in almost every metric. However, Dhurandhar is emerging as a rare case where the sequel has completely dominated the overall box office but still trails the original in a key trend like the 2nd Monday hold. This indicates that while Dhurandhar 2 is operating on a much larger scale with bigger openings and faster record-breaking totals, the first film had exceptionally strong weekday stability driven by word of mouth and repeat value. It also reflects how weekday trends can sometimes tell a different story compared to overall box office dominance. From record-breaking openings to historic worldwide totals and strong sustained collections, Dhurandhar 2 continues to dominate the box office. Yet, this 2nd Monday comparison adds an interesting layer to its box office journey, proving that even in the era of massive sequels, certain benchmarks set by original films can still stand tall.

Dhurandhar 2 Beats Jawan by 15% in Kerala in Just 12 Days; Sets New All Time Record for Hindi Films

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is continuing its historic box office run across India and overseas, but one of the most remarkable stories of its performance is coming from the Kerala box office, where the film is rewriting the record books for Hindi cinema. As of Day 12, Dhurandhar 2 has collected over ₹16 crore gross in Kerala, making it the highest grossing Hindi film in the state within the first 12 days of release. This is a historic achievement because Kerala has traditionally been a difficult market for Hindi films, with local Malayalam films dominating the box office. Before Dhurandhar 2, Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan was one of the strongest performing Hindi films in Kerala, collecting around ₹13.90 crore. Pathaan also performed strongly with over ₹13 crore, while Aamir Khan's Dangal crossed the ₹10 crore mark in the state. Dhurandhar Part 1 had collected around ₹8.70 crore in Kerala, making the sequel's performance almost double that of the first film within the same timeframe. Top 5 Bollywood movies in Kerala BoxOffice MOVIE NAME KERALA GROSS (12 DAYS) Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge ₹ 16+ Cr* Jawan ₹ 13.90 Cr Pathaan ₹ 13+ Cr Dangal ₹ 10+ Cr Dhurandhar (Part 1) ₹ 8.70+ Cr The Kerala box office performance becomes even more noteworthy when viewed in the context of theatre trends in the state. Over the past decade, the number of cinema theatres in Kerala has reportedly dropped significantly, with hundreds of theatres shutting down due to declining footfalls, rising costs, and the growth of OTT platforms. Industry reports have also highlighted that a large number of films released every year fail to recover costs, indicating that theatrical attendance in the state is highly selective and driven mainly by strong content or event films. In this context, Dhurandhar 2 crossing the ₹16 crore mark in Kerala within just 12 days is a significant achievement, as it reflects sustained audience turnout in a market where theatre performance depends heavily on word of mouth and strong audience reception. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) What makes this performance even more significant is that Dhurandhar 2 has achieved this milestone in just 12 days, becoming the first Hindi film in history to cross ₹15 crore gross in Kerala in such a short span. The film is now heading towards the ₹20 crore mark in the state, which would set a new benchmark for Hindi cinema in the Kerala market. The strong performance in Kerala is part of a much larger box office domination story. Dhurandhar 2 is performing exceptionally well across all territories including North India, South India, and overseas markets. The film is not just performing in traditional Hindi film markets but is also leading in several non-traditional markets for Bollywood films. As of Day 12, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has collected ₹1,392.23 crore at the worldwide box office, making it one of the fastest Hindi films to reach this milestone and further proving its massive global appeal. From North India to South India and from overseas markets to smaller domestic territories, Dhurandhar 2 is setting new benchmarks everywhere. The film is not just a box office success but a record-breaking run across multiple territories, and its Kerala performance is one of the biggest highlights of its historic theatrical run.

All-Time Biggest Second Monday In Hindi: A Battle of Dhurandhars' For The Top Spot As Dhurandhar 2 Beats Pushpa 2's Full Run

Mumbai, March 31 - Director Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has stormed past the 800 crore net mark and is now within touching distance of beating its predecessor (840 crores) to become the highest net-grossing Hindi film of all time. What makes this feat truly historic is the pace - the sequel is set to achieve this milestone in under two weeks, a record-shattering run by all standards. The Ranveer Singh-starrer is on a box office run unlike anything we have seen before. From delivering the biggest opening weekend and first week to smashing records again with the biggest second weekend, Dhurandhar 2 isn't just breaking records; it is creating its own league by setting entirely new benchmarks for Hindi cinema. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) On its second Monday, the spy action thriller registered a phenomenal hold, collecting 23+ crores net. That was enough for it to surpass the lifetime Hindi net collection of Pushpa 2: The Rule (812 crores), starring Allu Arjun, in just 12 days. The film's total now stands at approximately 818 crores net in Hindi, just 22 crores away from overtaking Dhurandhar to claim the top spot. While Dhurandhar 2 is on the brink of rewriting history, it was the original Dhurandhar that laid the foundation of the franchise's dominance. Notably, the first film still holds one of the most remarkable weekday records, including the biggest second Monday ever with 30.50 crores net. It remains one of the rare films whose second week outperformed its opening week, a benchmark that continues to stand tall. Ramayana's Rama Teaser Gets CBFC U Certificate, Ranbir Kapoor and Team Impress Fans at Exclusive LA IMAX Screening Ahead of April 2 Reveal

The makers of Ramayana, one of the most eagerly awaited films of 2026, have achieved another major promotional milestone ahead of its grand theatrical launch. A new promotional asset titled Rama — a fresh cinematic glimpse from the epic retelling — has secured a U certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), clearing it for audiences of all ages. According to the CBFC certification, the Rama asset has a runtime of 158 seconds, or 2 minutes and 38 seconds, offering a glimpse of the characters and visual tone of the film ahead of its official release. The certification was granted on March 30, 2026, and the makers have scheduled the official unveiling of the asset on Thursday, April 2, to coincide with Hanuman Jayanti, a culturally significant occasion associated with the epic's narrative. In a recent international promotional move, Ranbir Kapoor, director Nitesh Tiwari, and producer Namit Malhotra were spotted at a special IMAX screening event in Los Angeles, California, where they showcased early visuals from Ramayana to a select audience ahead of the global release of the teaser. The screening generated enthusiastic reactions and offered glimpses of the film's scale and immersive presentation well before the official April 2 launch. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The Rama glimpse is expected to introduce key characters of the film, including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Sources close to the project suggest that the asset emphasizes character presence and emotional depth rather than large-scale action sequences. Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, has been building anticipation since the release of its introductory video on July 3, 2025, more than a year before the film's scheduled release. The music is composed by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The film is a two-part adaptation of the ancient Indian epic, with the first part set to release on Diwali 2026 and the second part on Diwali 2027, marking it as one of the most ambitious ventures in contemporary Bollywood cinema. Releasing the Rama asset on Hanuman Jayanti adds cultural resonance to the marketing strategy, linking the teaser to themes of devotion and heroism. With audiences already highly engaged with the film's promotional content, the April 2 release of the glimpse is expected to generate significant buzz across social media and fan communities, further amplifying anticipation for Ramayana's theatrical journey.

Dhurandhar 2 Enters 200 Cr South India Club Alongside Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan in 11 Days;Sets New Box Office Benchmark

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has achieved a major milestone at the box office by crossing the ₹200 crore gross mark in South India, joining Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan in this elite club. This achievement is particularly significant given the traditionally limited reach of Hindi films in southern markets, making this a landmark moment for the film and the industry. What makes this feat even more remarkable is the speed. Dhurandhar 2 has reached the ₹200 crore mark in South India within just 11 days of release, showcasing its massive acceptance across regional markets. The film's strong hold across Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada circuits highlights its true pan-India appeal. On Day 11, Dhurandhar 2 collected a net of ₹68.10 crore across 19,270 shows. This takes its total India gross collections to ₹1,011.95 crore, while the India net stands at ₹846.87 crore so far. Overseas, the film added ₹17.00 crore on Day 11, pushing the total overseas gross to ₹342.00 crore. With this, the worldwide gross collection of Dhurandhar 2 has reached a massive ₹1,353.95 crore in just 11 days. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) In comparison, Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan had collected ₹36.85 crore net on Day 11 across 14,998 shows, taking its India gross to ₹569.69 crore, while overseas stood at ₹286 crore for a worldwide total of ₹855.69 crore at the same stage. Jawan was also a landmark film for Hindi cinema in South India as it broke the opening day records for an outright Hindi film in all four major South Indian states — Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, and Kerala, significantly expanding the market for Hindi films in the region. The comparison clearly highlights the scale at which Dhurandhar 2 is performing, not just domestically but globally as well. While Jawan played a crucial role in expanding the market for Hindi films in South India, Dhurandhar 2 appears to be taking that momentum to another level. The bigger story lies in the evolving dynamics of the Indian box office. South Indian markets, which were once largely dominated by regional cinema, are now opening up significantly to large-scale Hindi films. Dhurandhar 2's performance suggests that the pan-India model is no longer one-directional, with Hindi films now making deeper inroads into southern territories. From a trade perspective, Dhurandhar 2 entering the ₹200 crore South India club alongside Jawan is not just a record but a strong indicator of changing audience preferences. It reflects the growing acceptance of high-concept Hindi entertainers across regions and signals a new phase in the expansion of the Indian theatrical market.

Now, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has entered this elite club, cementing its place among the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema history. The Ranveer Singh-starrer, which has been on a record-breaking spree since its release, has shown phenomenal consistency across domestic and international markets. With strong word-of-mouth and repeat value, Dhurandhar 2 has comfortably crossed the 1000 crore gross mark in just 11 days, becoming the joint fastest film to achieve this feat. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) This feat places Dhurandhar 2 alongside a very select group of films that have achieved this milestone purely at the Indian box office. Dhurandhar is the only Indian film series to have two films with 1000+ crores gross each, both in India and worldwide. Director SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, released in 2017, was the first film to redefine domestic box office potential, setting an unprecedented benchmark. Dhurandhar 2 Creates History in Karnataka; First Hindi Film to Cross 100 Cr, Joins Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2 Club Bollywood

Dhurandhar 2 Creates History in Karnataka; First Hindi Film to Cross 100 Cr, Joins Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2 Club

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is not just setting records at the national and global box office, but its performance in Karnataka is emerging as one of the most interesting box office stories of its run. Karnataka has traditionally been a market dominated by Kannada and Telugu films, with only a handful of Hindi films managing to perform strongly in the state. Dhurandhar 2, however, is emerging as one of the biggest Hindi film performers in the state in recent years. Historically, non-Kannada films that performed at an extraordinary level in Karnataka were mostly Telugu big-budget spectacles such as Baahubali 2, Pushpa 2, RRR and Kalki 2898 AD. These films had strong Telugu market penetration and dubbed versions which helped them perform across the state beyond Bengaluru city. Hindi films, on the other hand, traditionally depended heavily on multiplex business in Bengaluru and had limited reach in the rest of Karnataka. This trend has slowly started changing in the post-pandemic era with large-scale pan-India films. The dominance of local cinema in Karnataka can be understood better by looking at the all-time highest-grossing films in the state. Highest Grossing Movies in Karnataka (All Languages) RANK MOVIE NAME TOTAL GROSS 1 Kantara Chapter 1 ₹247+ Cr 2 Kantara (2022) ₹183.60 Cr 3 KGF Chapter 2 ₹183 Cr 4 KGF Chapter 1 ₹135 Cr 5 Baahubali 2 ₹129 Cr The list above clearly shows that the Karnataka box office is largely dominated by Kannada films, with Kantara and KGF franchise films occupying most of the top positions. Baahubali 2 remains the only non-Kannada film in the top five highest-grossing films of all time in Karnataka, which shows how difficult it is for films from other industries to reach the top tier in this market. This is why the performance of films like Baahubali 2, Pushpa 2 and now Dhurandhar 2 becomes significant, as these films are among the few non-Kannada films that have managed to perform at a very high level in the state. Baahubali 2 was the film that completely changed the box office landscape in Karnataka for non-Kannada films when it released in 2017. The film performed at unprecedented levels and became the benchmark for all non-Kannada films in the state. Years later, Pushpa 2 continued the trend and again demonstrated the massive potential of Telugu pan-India cinema in Karnataka. These films were not just hits; they expanded the overall market size for non-Kannada films in the state. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) In comparison, Hindi films rarely reached those levels historically. Even big Bollywood blockbusters usually performed strongly only in Bengaluru and Mysuru circuits, while Telugu and Tamil films dominated mass circuits across the state. The first Dhurandhar film itself was considered a very strong performer for a Hindi film in Karnataka, collecting numbers comparable to several Telugu releases, which was a rare achievement for Bollywood in the state. Now with Dhurandhar 2, the trend appears to be moving further. The sequel opened to very strong numbers in Karnataka and maintained excellent momentum through the first week and second weekend, indicating strong acceptance beyond just the multiplex audience. This is significant because for a Hindi film to sustain in Karnataka beyond the opening weekend, it usually requires either exceptional word of mouth or franchise value, and Dhurandhar 2 seems to be benefiting from both. The larger significance of Dhurandhar 2's performance in Karnataka is not just about the final number it will achieve, but what it represents for the Hindi film market in South India. For many years, Telugu and Tamil films expanded into North India and became pan-India successes, but the reverse was relatively rare. With films like Pathaan, Jawan, and now Dhurandhar franchise, Hindi films are slowly expanding their reach in South Indian markets as well. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) If the current trend continues, Dhurandhar 2 could emerge as one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time in Karnataka and one of the biggest non-Kannada performers in the state in recent years. More importantly, it would signal a shift where large Hindi franchise films can perform in South Indian markets not just as urban hits but as broader regional successes. In trade terms, this run is important not only for the film itself but for the overall Hindi film market in Karnataka. A strong performance here increases the theatrical value of future Hindi big-budget films in the state, improves distribution pricing, and expands the market size. That is why Dhurandhar 2's Karnataka performance could have long-term implications beyond just the box office numbers of this film. In conclusion, Dhurandhar 2's Karnataka run should not be viewed only in terms of collections, but in terms of market expansion. Just like Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2 expanded the non-Kannada film market in Karnataka, Dhurandhar 2 has the potential to further strengthen the position of large-scale Hindi franchise films in the state, which could have long-term implications for the theatrical market going forward.

Dhurandhar 2 Overseas Box Office: Record Run in Australia, UK and Historic Breakthrough in Germany and Hong Kong

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is not just performing well overseas — it is redefining the scale, consistency, and market reach of Indian cinema across global territories. In just 11 days, the film has established dominance across key markets like Australia, UK, Germany, New Zealand, and even non-traditional markets like Hong Kong, setting benchmarks that very few Indian films have managed historically. What makes the overseas run even more significant is that the film is not just performing in traditional strongholds of Indian cinema, but is also expanding into markets that were historically dominated by specific stars, languages, or dubbed versions. In several territories, the film is now challenging or even surpassing markets that were once considered exclusive strongholds of certain superstars and industries. In Australia, the film has already emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of all time, collecting A$6.37M in just 11 days. It has comfortably crossed the lifetime numbers of films like Pathaan, Jawan, and Animal, and has done so in record time. The film also became the first ever Indian title to breach the A$6M mark within just 10 days, highlighting its extraordinary pace and strong trend. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Australia has emerged as one of the biggest overseas markets for Telugu cinema over the past decade, with big spectacle films dominating the territory. Dhurandhar 2 becoming the highest-grossing Indian film in Australia shows that the film has not only entered the market but completely dominated a territory that was previously driven heavily by large-scale action spectacles and franchise films. Dhurandhar 2 has already entered the prestigious £3M club within just 10 days, becoming the first 18+ rated Indian film to achieve this milestone. It now stands as the second highest-grossing Indian film of all time in the region, surpassing the lifetime collections of several major Indian releases. The UK has traditionally been one of the strongest overseas markets for Bollywood and especially star-driven films due to the large South Asian diaspora. Dhurandhar 2 entering the top all-time list within just 10 days shows a clear shift in audience trends and indicates that the film is performing like a long-run blockbuster rather than just an opening-driven hit. Top Indian Grossers in UKMOVIE NAMETOTAL COLLECTIONPathaan£4.38MDhurandhar 2: The Revenge£3.21MSaiyaara£3.21MJawan£3.10MDhurandhar£3.05M Germany, a market where Indian films traditionally struggle to cross even €100K in their opening weekend, is now witnessing a historic run with Dhurandhar 2 heading towards the €1M mark after already collecting €841K in just 10 days with strong second weekend growth. Historically, Indian films in Germany were limited to niche diaspora screenings and film festivals, and the market has largely been dominated by Shah Rukh Khan films — with 4 out of the top 5 highest-grossing Bollywood films in Germany being SRK starrers such as Pathaan (€888K), Jawan (€688K), Dunki (€460K), and My Name Is Khan (€375K), highlighting his long-standing brand value in the region. Dhurandhar 2 performing at this level without a dubbed version and without that traditional market base indicates that the film is not just performing in the market but expanding the market itself and attracting a new audience segment beyond the usual diaspora and niche Indian cinema audience. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) New Zealand is another territory where the film is rewriting records. With NZ$988K in 11 days, it is set to enter the NZ$1M club, becoming only the second Indian film after Pathaan to do so. Notably, it has already surpassed the lifetime collections of most Indian films in the region within just 10 days, indicating a very strong trend in the market. Perhaps the most surprising performance comes from Hong Kong, where Dhurandhar 2 has crossed HK$1.15M despite releasing in just two theatres and without Chinese subtitles. This is significant from a distribution perspective because Indian films in East Asian markets usually rely heavily on local language subtitles or dubbed versions to reach wider audiences. Films like Dangal in China succeeded largely because of a Mandarin-dubbed version tailored for the local audience, whereas Dhurandhar 2 is performing purely on word of mouth and genre appeal rather than localization, making this a rare breakthrough for Indian cinema in the region. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) When compared to previous global blockbusters, Dhurandhar 2 stands out not just for its openings, but for its consistency and expansion into newer markets. While most Indian films rely heavily on traditional diaspora markets, Dhurandhar 2 is showing growth across Europe and East Asia as well, which is a very rare trend for an Indian commercial film. The overall overseas trajectory clearly indicates that the film is not just opening big, but trending like a long-run blockbuster across multiple territories simultaneously. From dominating traditional markets like Australia and the UK to expanding into newer territories like Germany and Hong Kong, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is setting a new benchmark for overseas box office performance for Indian cinema.
