Mumbai, July 28 - Marvel Studios returns to its old box office glory with Deadpool and Wolverine which blew the industry projection away to create history at the box office by scoring the biggest opening for an R-rated (equivalent to A rating in India) at the domestic and worldwide box office.## Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool & Wolverine shattered records to score $211 million (1765 crores) in the 3-day opening weekend at the domestic (North America) box office. This is the biggest opening for an R-rated and 8th biggest of all time for any movie, beating fellow MCU title Black Panther's $202 million start.## At the overseas box office, the Shawn Levy's directorial superhero comedy grossed a spectacular $233 million (1950 crores) on a 5-day opening weekend over 52 markets, for a worldwide cume opening weekend of $444 million (3720 crores) as the 11th biggest Hollywood opening ever at the global box office.## Only 13 movies in history have opened to $400+ million worldwide, as Deadpool 3 beats Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's $422 million and also edged past Avatar: The Way of Water's $441 million to claim the 11th spot in terms of worldwide gross opening weekend.## China is the biggest international market with $24 million weekend, followed by the UK with $22.10 million, and Mexico with $18.70 million at 2nd and 3rd spot, respectively. California, July 28 - Amid the shocking announcement of Robert Downey Jr.'s Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) coming back in a different avatar, Marvel Studios has revealed the title of Fantastic Four which will be the 37th movie in the MCU.## During Marvel Studios' most anticipated panel at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) on Sunday (IST), the film's title was revealed as Fantastic Four: First Steps. Box Office: Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Becomes First Film Franchise To Hit $30 Billion Worldwide

Mumbai, July 28 - Marvel Studios/Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has become the first-ever movie franchise to hit $30 billion at the worldwide box office after the release of the latest blockbuster Deadpool and Wolverine. The milestone was announced during the studio's Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, led by studio chief Kevin Feige.## MCU started with Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man (2008) which grossed $586 million globally. The latest Deadpool & Wolverine which is the 34th movie in the blockbuster franchise pushed the MCU to become the first to reach the $30 billion milestone after the record opening for an R-rated title and is poised to score $450+ million in its global opening weekend. ## The comic book turned into a feature film franchise has delivered unbelievable success for Marvel/Disney. Box Office: 'Deadpool and Wolverine' And 'Raayan' Second Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 27 - After the huge opening day of approximately 21 crores net (approx. 27 crores gross), Marvel Studios' superhero comedy Deadpool and Wolverine has witnessed a jump of around 10% on its second day at the Indian box office which is good for an A-rated Hollywood title. ## According to the early estimates, the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer blockbuster scored in the range of 22.50-23.50 crores net (28-30 crores gross) on its second day, pushing the 2-days total to around 44 crores net and 55+ crores gross in all versions.## The jump in the collection indicates the positive word of mouth among the moviegoers. These types of films tend to stay flat after the big opening. The Marvel tag, however, is a big plus as it is a popular movie brand in India and with positive reception, Marvel movies have done well in the past and Deadpool 3 should be the next on this list. ## The Shawn Lavy's directorial is heading for around 67-70 crores net (85+ crores gross) on the opening weekend which is an excellent result for the movie.## On the other hand, the Tamil movie Raayan has a super solid hold on its second day after delivering the career-best opening for actor Dhanush with approximately 15.75 crores gross in India. Mumbai, July 25 - It hasn't been a great year for Hollywood movies at the Indian box office with only Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire managing to hit 100 crores net collection in the first 6 months so far. However, things are expected to change in the second half of the year, starting with Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated Deadpool and Wolverine. ## The third Deadpool movie, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, is scheduled to hit the big screen on July 26. The anticipation for the movie among Indian audiences is as high as some of the biggest Marvel movies in the past and the pre-sales response indicates the same. ## The Shawn Levy's A-rated directorial, which is reportedly releasing on over 3000 screens across the country, has scored one of the biggest pre-sales of the year in India and one of the biggest for a Marvel title in recent times.## As of 9 PM on July 25, Deadpool 3 sold approximately 360K tickets worth 10+ crores gross collection (12.60+ crores gross with block seats) for the opening day in all versions. This is the 7th Disney movie and 5th for Pixar in the top 10 animated highest-grossing movies ever globally. ## In the process of outgrossing Frozen 2, the Inside Out sequel had surpassed Margot Robbie's Barbie ($1.44 billion) a day earlier to become the 13th highest-grossing movie ever, behind Tom Cruise's Top Gun Maverick ($1.49 billion). Box Office: Marvel Studios 'Deadpool and Wolverine' Projected To Take $350+ Million Worldwide Opening

Mumbai, July 23 - From its lowest opening ever in The Marvels ($110 million worldwide) in November last year to potentially one of the biggest in the MUC history in the upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine, Marvel Studios/Disney is about to change the fate within just 9 months.## Recently, the domestic (North America) box office projection for the third Deadpool movie was revealed at $160+ million, by far the biggest opening for an R-rated (equal to A rating in India) movie ever and now, there is more for the studios to keep their expectations high. ## According to Deadline, the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-fronted blockbuster are looking at $340 million - $360 million opening at the global box office, including $180 million - $190 million overseas start which would be the biggest for an R-rated. ## These projections seem to be conservative as a previous report by Deadline (quoting a tracking agency) projected a $200+ million domestic start before most of the tracking sites brought that projection down to $160+ million. Overseas, the movie can still open at $200+ million as reports suggest the pre-sales are exceptional everywhere, so a $400+ million worldwide start is very much a possibility. ## If the aforementioned projection holds, it would be the third biggest MCU opening post the COVID-19 pandemic after Spider-Man: No Way Home ($600 million) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ($452 million). Box Office: 'Twisters' Scores Record Opening For A Natural Disaster Movie

Los Angeles, July 20 - Universal Pictures' Twisters, starring Glen Powell, is set to overcome the industry projection to score the record opening for a natural disaster film at the domestic (North American) box office. ## The movie, directed by Lee Isaac Chung, scored an estimated $80.50 million (675 crores) in the opening weekend, the third biggest of the year. Russo Brothers In Talks To Direct Next Two Avengers Movies

Mumbai, July 18 - In a massive but pleasant surprise, Joe and Anthony Russo, famously known as the Russo brothers, are in talks to return to the MCU to helm the next two Avengers movies, according to the report by The Hollywood Reporter.## It is to be noted that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton was originally set to direct Avengers 5 but he backed out last year after the movie faced major hurdles due to the controversy surrounding actor Jonathan Majors who was to play the centre role as the main villain, Kang.## Marvel Studios has been searching for directors to oversee the fifth and sixth Avengers movies for a long time.
