Dulquer Salmaan's 'King of Kotha' Audio Rights Get Sold In Record Price

Kochi, May 14 - Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan's gangster drama King of Kotha is one of the most anticipated Mollywood movies. The movie is carrying huge expectations among the audiences as well as in the trade which is banking big on this. ## Directed by Abhilash Joshiy, "King of Kotha" is currently in the post-production work as it is gearing up to release in August this year during the Onam festival. Meanwhile, ahead of the much-awaited release, the makers have sold the audio rights of the film to Sony Music at a record price.## According to reports, Sony Music has acquired the audio rights of "King of Kotha" for a whopping sum of Rs 6 crore, which is said to be an all-time record for a Malayalam movie. This shouldn't come as a surprise as Dulquer Salman's recent movies' music was a huge hit. ## Director Joshiy earlier told to Kochi Times, "Dulquer was the obvious choice for me because we grew up together and he is the person I am closest to in the industry. Tovino Thomas Confirms Superhero Movie 'Minnal Murali 2' Will Release Only In Theaters

Mumbai, May 10 - Malayalam star actor Tovino Thomas is on cloud nine after the massive success of his latest film 2018 which is based on the true events of the Kerala floods in 2018. The movie has grossed over 40 crores worldwide so far and now, the makers are gearing up to release it in other languages. ## Before "2018", Tovino Thomas made his way into the hearts of the nationwide audience with the fun critically acclaimed superhero movie Minnal Murali (2021). The audiences, however, were left disappointed that it didn't release in theaters after Netflix acquired rights for direct streaming. ## Since the movie turned into a huge success on OTT, Tovino confirmed in a recent interview that a sequel was in early development. Now, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama for "2018" promotion in Mumbai, the actor confirmed Minnal Murali 2 is being written, and this time, it will release only in theaters.## "We will release Minnal Murali 2 only in theaters. After it releases in the theaters, I want Netflix to acquire its OTT rights", said the actor.## The actor further said the movie was made keeping theaters in mind but due to the covid-19 pandemic and restrictions on theaters, it was not possible for the makers to release it on the big screens. He also lauded the efforts Netflix put into promoting the film on a wide scale which made Minnal Murali a nationwide sensation. ## "Having said that, when the second part (Minnal Murali 2) releases, I want it to be released in theaters only", he added.## The movie was directed by Basil Joseph from the script written by Arun Anirudhan and Justin Mathew. Mohanlal And Prithviraj Sukumaran's 'Lucifer 2' Is In The Works

Kochi, August 17 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's blockbuster Lucifer (2019) is getting ready for its sequel. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the political action thriller film is the second highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. Sukumaran also played an extended cameo in the film. ## The talks regarding the sequel have been in place since last year and things are now shaping up quickly. Sukumaran had revealed last year that the sequel was supposed to take place last year itself but they were forced to postpone due to the covid-19 pandemic. It is now getting ready to start production soon as Murali Gopi is done with the screenplay. ## "Lucifer" is believed to be developed into a franchise and it is very much possible that there will be more films after the second part. Drishyam 3: Mohanlal To Return For The Final Chapter of Director Jeethu Joseph's 'Drishyam'

Kochi, August 13 - Director Jeethu Joseph confirmed last year that Mohanlal-starrer crime thriller Drishyam 3 is in the works and now, the latest reports say that the movie will be announced soon. ## Jeethu Joseph, after the release of Drishyam 2 in February 2021, confirmed that he discussed the climax of Drishyam 3 with Mohanlal and producer Antony Perumbavoor and they liked it.
