Box Office: Mahesh Babu's 'Guntur Kaaram' Leads Among Sankranthi Releases After First Week; Hanuman To Overtake Soon Tollywood

Box Office: Mahesh Babu's 'Guntur Kaaram' Leads Among Sankranthi Releases After First Week; Hanuman To Overtake Soon

Hyderabad, January 19 - Superstar Mahesh Babu's action drama Guntur Kaaram is leading among the Sankranthi 2024 releases after the first week. The Trivikram Srinivas' directorial has done well during the festive season, despite the mixed word of mouth. ## Released on January 12, the Haarika & Hassine Creations' produced venture has managed to score approximately 157 crores at the worldwide box office in the first 7 days. In India, the movie has minted around 127 crores gross while the overseas collection is approximately 30 crores. ## Guntur Kaaram needs to hold decently in the coming days to emerge as a successful venture which is now looking very much possible. After the second day, on which the collection dropped by around 70%, the break-even target was looking difficult but the festive season helped the movie to find stability and now, it is in a much better position at the box office. ## Director Prashant Varma's superhero movie Hanuman is giving tough competition to Guntur Kaaram and it will soon overtake the latter at the worldwide box office. The movie has been a revolution since its debut on January 12, and despite getting far fewer screens, the movie is not far behind Babu's film at the worldwide box office.## In the first 7 days, Hanuman grossed approximately 142.50 crores at the worldwide box office, including approximately 104 crores at the domestic box office. Hanuman has already taken the lead over Guntur Kaaram at the overseas box office with approximately 38.50 crores gross after the first week. The movie is headed for finishing well over 200 crores globally, emerging as one of the biggest success stories in Telugu cinema. ## Nagarjuna Akkineni's action drama Naa Saami Ranga, which was released on January 14, has done well so far to emerge as a box office hit. The movie was released amid decent expectations and it has lived up its whatever hype it had to score around 27 crores gross at the worldwide box office in the first 5 days. ## Saindhav, starring Venkatesh Daggubati, has been underwhelming at the box office so far and is unlikely to reach its break-even target. In the first 6 days, the movie grossed approximately 18 crores at the worldwide box office, including around 16.25 crores domestically. The tight competition and mixed word-of-mouth come as a roadblock for it. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: Guntur Kaaram and Hanuman First Tuesday Early Estimates

Hyderabad, January 16 - Superstar Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram has another good hold at the domestic box office and the movie is inching closer to 100 crores net mark in India within the first week despite the mixed reviews from critics. ## The action drama film continues to benefit from the Pongal holidays, scoring an estimated 11-12 crores net (13-14) collection on its first Tuesday/fifth day. The Pongal holidays and the coming weekend should ensure a hit verdict of the film, which could have easily collapsed in a normal week with the kind of drop it had on its second day. ## Meanwhile, director Prashanth Varma's Hanuman continues to riot and has another super solid day at the box office. According to early estimates, the superhero movie scored around 12.50-13.50 crores net (14.50-15.50 crores gross) on its fifth day in Telugu and Hindi, pushing the total net to over 68.50+ crores (81 crores gross). ## The Telugu version continues to put up a solid show as it scored an estimated 10+ crores net (12 crores gross) on Tuesday (total 49.50+ crores), getting the benefit of a holiday in Telugu states while the Hindi version witnessed a drop of around 25% today for an estimated 2.50-2.75 crores net, pushing total Hindi net to over 18 crores.## Hanuman is proving the biggest hit among the other Sankranthi releases this year by a good margin and it is likely to top Guntur Kaaram in the overall collection soon. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: 'Guntur Kaaram' and 'Hanuman' First Monday/Fourth Day Early Estimates

Hyderabad, January 15 - Superstar Mahesh Babu's action drama Guntur Kaaram held strongly on its first Monday, enjoying the perks of the Pongal holidays. The movie did show a minor jump of around 3% on Sunday, and it remained in the same range with a similar kind of jump today. ## According to early estimates, Guntur Kaaram minted around 14-15 crores net (16-17 crores gross) collection on its first Monday, a holiday in South India. The movie has started getting the support of family audiences, despite the mixed word-of-mouth. Since the big drop on the second day, the film hasn't dropped further which is a good sign. ## The film's total collection has reached around 83+ crores net (98 crores gross) after the first 4 days, as per estimates. Guntur Kaaram should show the same trend over the next two days as the Pongal holidays continue and then the second weekend should help it further. ## Meanwhile, director Prashanth Varma's Hanuman has another rock-solid day at the box office. In the original Telugu version, the movie has its biggest day while the Hindi version too has a stronghold and it eventually collects more than the first day numbers. According to early estimates, the superhero movie scored 14-15 crores net (16-17 crores gross) on its first Monday/4th day. In Telugu, the movie is looking to score around 11 crores net (13 crores gross) while the Hindi collection is expected to be around 3.50-4 crores net, with a mighty jump of over 65% over the first-day collection.## Hanuman's total collection, after 4 days, is around 55+ crores net (65 crores gross), including 39+ crores net in Telugu and 15.50+ crores net in Hindi. The movie is sure to show a similar trend in the coming days as more shows are being added due to high demand. ## Stay tuned...
