Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is all set to return with the second installment of the hit Manikarnika franchise. ## Titled Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda, the film will revolve around the life of Didda, Kashmir's first woman ruler, sometimes described as the "Cleopatra of Kashmir". Didda ruled Kashmir directly and indirectly for around five decades in the 10th and 11th centuries and defeated Mahmud Ghaznavi twice.## Announcing the movie, Kangana Ranaut took to Twitter and wrote, "Our India has been witness to the story of many brave hearts like Rani of Jhansi. The movie will be jointly produced by Kangana and Kamal Jain, who bankrolled the first installment, Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi (2019).## The film is expected to go on floors in January 2022.## The first film in the Manikarnika franchise, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai, starred Kangana Ranaut, Atul Kulkarni, Ankita Lokhande, Jisshu Sengupta, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Vaibhav Tatwawaadi. Then I asked her to send across rushes from the film and I saw that 80% of my scenes were chopped off and the scenes that I was narrated were not there".## "I spoke to Kangana again and she confessed as a friend that she wanted this to be shot in a certain way. So I told her that she is a great friend of mine but I’m not comfortable in shooting what she is asking me to do, I said an okay to the previous script and director but I would like to walk out of this project and I won’t even speak about it.
