Chennai, August 17 - Tamil star Dhanush's action thriller Raayan is all set to premiere digitally after the record-breaking box office performance. The movie is written, directed, and stars Dhanush in the leading role alongside Sundeep Kishan, Selvaraghavan, Kalidas Jayaram, and Dushara Vijayan, among others.## Released on July 26, the A-rated blockbuster is the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 so far with a worldwide box office collection of around 152 crores gross. The movie has been in theatres for more than three weeks and is now set for its digital release.## Produced by Sun Pictures, Raayan will premiere via Amazon Prime Video on August 23 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada, languages. Written, directed, and headlined by Dhanush, Raayan has been one of the biggest Tamil hits of the year and it has now reached a new milestone.## The A-rated action blockbuster has become the first Tamil movie of 2024 to reach the 100 crores gross collection mark at the Indian box office. The movie grossed approximately 98.50 crores in 15 days and at the time of penning this piece, it has crossed the milestone of 100 crores gross in India within 16 days.## Raayan is already the biggest Tamil grosser of the year domestically by beating Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 which flopped at approximately 96 crores gross collection. Chennai, July 29 - Tamil star Dhanush scored a much deserving success with his latest action thriller Raayan after the excellent 3-day opening weekend at the worldwide box office. The A-rated blockbuster scored close to 70 crores gross collection, already one of the highest-grossing Tamil movies of the year.## Directed and headlined by Dhanush, Raayan witnessed a continued jump over the weekend at the domestic box office, which is not a regular case for South Indian films. With approximately 49 crores gross collection, the movie scored the second biggest opening weekend for a Tamil title of 2024, behind only Indian 2. ## In Tamil Nadu, Raayan minted approximately 34 crores gross, followed by approximately 5.50+ crores in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telengana). The rest of the domestic market contributed approximately 10 crores gross collection. ## At the overseas box office, the movie has had a superb weekend with approximately 22 crores gross. Mumbai, July 27 - After the huge opening day of approximately 21 crores net (approx. 27 crores gross), Marvel Studios' superhero comedy Deadpool and Wolverine has witnessed a jump of around 10% on its second day at the Indian box office which is good for an A-rated Hollywood title. ## According to the early estimates, the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer blockbuster scored in the range of 22.50-23.50 crores net (28-30 crores gross) on its second day, pushing the 2-days total to around 44 crores net and 55+ crores gross in all versions.## The jump in the collection indicates the positive word of mouth among the moviegoers. These types of films tend to stay flat after the big opening. The Marvel tag, however, is a big plus as it is a popular movie brand in India and with positive reception, Marvel movies have done well in the past and Deadpool 3 should be the next on this list. ## The Shawn Lavy's directorial is heading for around 67-70 crores net (85+ crores gross) on the opening weekend which is an excellent result for the movie.## On the other hand, the Tamil movie Raayan has a super solid hold on its second day after delivering the career-best opening for actor Dhanush with approximately 15.75 crores gross in India. Chennai, July 9 - Actor and filmmaker Dhanush's second directorial venture Raayan has been censored with an 18+ rating by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for extreme display of violence, opposite of the actor's first directorial movie, Pa Paandi (2017) which was rated with a 'U' certificate. ## Raayan was censored on July 9, Tuesday, with an 'A' rating and the approved runtime of 2 hours and 25 minutes (145 minutes) which is a crisp and suitable runtime for these kinds of films. Produced by Sun Pictures, the movie is scheduled to be released on July 26.## In the movie, Raayan trains himself and goes in search of the killers to avenge the death of his family, where his quest of finding the killers leads him through the criminal underworld. ## Dhanush plays the title role, leading an ensemble cast which includes S. Chennai, June 10 - Sun Pictures has postponed the release of Tamil star Dhanush's second directorial venture Raayan by a month to July 2024. Dhanush is also playing the leading role in the movie alongside Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, S. J. Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Prakash Raj, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Saravanan. ## The movie, which was previously announced to be released in June, will now be released in theatres worldwide on July 26 in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Interestingly, the movie will hit the big screens during the birthday week of Dhanush as the actor will celebrate his 41st birthday on July 28, doubling the celebrations for fans.## The makers have already started the promotions as two single tracks, Adangadha Asuran, and Water Packet have increased the buzz around the movie. Chennai, May 6 - Tamil star Dhanush's second directorial venture Raayan which also features him in the leading role, has been announced to hit the big screens in June this year. The action thriller is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. ## Raayan has officially been confirmed to be released in June. While the exact date is yet to be announced, the movie is likely to hit the screens on June 13/14 after Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 was reportedly postponed to July. ## Meanwhile, the makers also announced that the first song from the movie, which has been composed by AR Rahman, will be arriving on May 9.
