Dhanush's 'Raayan' Gets 'A' Rating From CBFC; Runtime Revealed

Chennai, July 9 - Actor and filmmaker Dhanush's second directorial venture Raayan has been censored with an 18+ rating by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for extreme display of violence, opposite of the actor's first directorial movie, Pa Paandi (2017) which was rated with a 'U' certificate.
Raayan was censored on July 9, Tuesday, with an 'A' rating and the approved runtime of 2 hours and 25 minutes (145 minutes) which is a crisp and suitable runtime for these kinds of films. Produced by Sun Pictures, the movie is scheduled to be released on July 26.
In the movie, Raayan trains himself and goes in search of the killers to avenge the death of his family, where his quest of finding the killers leads him through the criminal underworld.
Dhanush plays the title role, leading an ensemble cast which includes S. J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. Legendary A. R. Rahman has scored the music of the film.
