Box Office: 'Koi Mil Gaya' (Re-Release) First Week Collection

Mumbai, August 12 - On the occasion of the 20th anniversary, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and superstar Hrithik Roshan re-released their superhit science fiction movie "Koi Mil Gaya" (2003) on August 4 in association with PVR Cinemas. ## The movie had limited re-release across PVR properties in around 30 cities as it was more like celebrating this cult classic rather than aiming for big bucks with a proper second-frame release. In the opening weekend, "Koi Mil Gaya" scored approx. 19 lakh gross in around 225 shows. ## After the opening weekend, the movie was left with a limited chance to score during weekdays as it grossed approx. 10 lakh from Monday to Thursday (August 7 - August 10). The opening week collection of the movie was approx. 29-30 lakh which can be termed decent with the kind of re-release size the movie had.## Have a look at the day-wise collection of "Koi... Mumbai, August 7 - In 2003, Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan reunited with his father Rakesh Roshan for a science-fiction movie "Koi... Mil Gaya". It emerged as a box office success and went on to earn a cult status over the years. ## In 2023, "Koi... Mil Gaya" completes 20 years of its release, and to celebrate the occasion, the makers teamed up with PVR Inox to re-release the film on August 4 across 30 cities. The magic of the movie remained intact as it recorded housefull shows at some centers. ## The limited re-release of "Koi Mil Gaya" scored approx. 20 lakh gross in its opening weekend with a total of approx. 225 shows. On its opening day of re-release, "Koi Mil Gaya" grossed approx. 3.50 lakh, followed by approx. 6 lakh on Saturday, and approx. 10 lakh on Sunday. ## Earlier this year in June, Sunny Deol's Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was also re-released and grossed solid 1.30 crores in the opening weekend. Govinda And Raveena Tandon's 'Dulhe Raja' To Be Remade With Modern Sensibilities?

Mumbai, September 5 - Govinda and Raveena Tandon's Dulhe Raja (1998) holds a special place in the comedy genre in Bollywood cinema history. Produced and directed by Harmesh Malhotra, "Dulhe Raja" was one of the highest-grossing films of the year and it followed with a tremendous response on television over the years. ## "Dulhe Raja" will complete 25 years in 2023 and if all goes well, the movie could get its modern-day version. According to Pinkvilla, Shah Rukh Khan's production house, Red Chillies Entertainment has acquired the negative and remake rights of the movie and is working on the idea of how to adapt it to modern sensibilities. ## "Very few know that Shah Rukh Khan is indeed a big fan of the comedy genre and Dulhe Raja is one of those popcorn entertainers that he likes. When one of the associates suggested the idea of acquiring the blanket rights of Dulhe Raja, SRK was game on for the idea", reports Pinkvilla. ## The report also states that the remake rights were acquired a long time back and Farhad Samji, who is currently working with Salman Khan on "Kabhi Bhai Kabhi Jaan", has been attached to make a fresh screenplay of the movie by retaining the world of the original and its work in progress at the moment. ## The original movie, apart from Govinda and Raveena Tandon, also starred Kader Khan, Prem Chopra, Johnny Lever, Asrani, Viju Khote, and Mohnish Behl among others in key roles. ## Stay tuned...
