Mumbai, August 16 - The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) announced the winners of the 70th National Film Awards at the National Media Center in New Delhi on Friday, to honour feature and non-feature films certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022.## Kannada star Rishab Shetty won the Best Actor award for the mega-blockbuster movie Kantara while Nithya Menon scored the Best Actress award for Tiruchitrabalam. Director Sooraj Barjatya Approaches Shahid Kapoor To Headline 'Prem Ki Shaadi'

Mumbai, March 6 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and director Sooraj Barjatya were supposed to reunite for a family drama film Prem Ki Shaadi, however, it was recently reported that the actor has backed out from the project over creative issues. ## Later, it was reported that the filmmaker would be tweaking the script and would make it with younger actors. Now, according to Peepingmoon.com, talented actor Shahid Kapoor, who just scored a box office hit in the form of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, has been approached to headline the film. ## Shahid and Sooraj Barjatya have previously worked on the romantic drama Vivah which was a box-office hit and later earned a cult status with immense popularity in every household on television. It is said that when Salman backed out from Prem Ki Shaadi, the filmmaker immediately approached Shahid and things have been processing in the right direction. ## The duo has met multiple times and Barjatya is hopeful of getting Shahid on board the film which is an ambitious family drama and will be mounted on a grand scale. Interestingly, Shahid's character name in Vivah was also Prem who is quite popular in Barjatya's films. ## If all goes well, Prem Ki Shaadi will go on floors by the end of this year or early next year. Shahid, meanwhile, has a few big films in the pipeline. Salman Khan's Film With Director Sooraj Barjatya Shelved?

Mumbai, February 10 - Last year, it was revealed that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan would be reuniting with director Sooraj Barjatya for a family entertainer. The movie was tentatively titled Prem Ki Shaadi and was supposed to go on floors in the second half of 2024. ## Salman officially confirmed Prem Ki Shaadi and director Sooraj Barjatya also confirmed that he was working on the script, generating so much excitement among the fans. However, the latest reports suggest that Barjatya's film will unlikely happen anytime soon and might be shelved over creative differences. ## According to a report by Mid-Day, "If you see the sort of star that Salman Khan is today and the director's films, the two are poles apart in terms of their creative sensibilities. The script was their common ground, but over time, there were too many things they couldn’t agree on. So, it made sense for them to call it off amicably". ## The duo of Salman and Sooraj has reportedly amicably decided to part ways until they work on something new in the future. Meanwhile, the report suggests that the filmmaker intends to revisit the film's script by making some changes to it and will reportedly initiate talks with younger actors. However, there has been no concrete development since its announcement as the fans are still awaiting official updates from the makers for the same. ## Over the last year, the chatters about "Kick 2" have been making a lot of noise and the rumours were there that the movie would start rolling soon, but again, it didn't happen. Mumbai, July 8 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been in talks with his director friend Sooraj Barjatya for their next films together. The filmmaker has been working on the script for a long time and it was recently reported that it might take a few more months to complete the entire script work. ## During this period, the superstar was also interested in a film offered by producer Karan Johar, but now, according to a report in Mid-Day, the "Dabangg" star has made up his mind and picked Barjatya's film that is reportedly titled "Prem Ki Shaadi". ## It is said that Salman loved the script when it was first narrated to him in 2020 but due to the pandemic, the development of the film got delayed. Mumbai, June 20 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's immediate next after much-awaited "Tiger 3" might be Tiger vs Pathaan with Shah Rukh Khan. The superstar has been listening to scripts for quite some time now but none of them are looking to start anytime soon. ## According to Pinkvilla, Salman is committed to shooting for "Tiger vs Pathaan" in the first quarter of 2024 with Shah Rukh Khan. It was previously revealed that before TvP, Salman would take up a new film to release either on Eid or Diwali next year. ## Director Vishnu Vardhan has narrated a story to the actor and he is keenly interested in it. But given the huge scale, the project needs at least 4-5 months of pre-production work.
