Akshay Kumar's Marathi Film 'Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat' Shooting Paused?

Mumbai, June 4 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar announced his maiden Marathi movie back in 2022 when he was confirmed to play a cameo appearance in the historical drama Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. The actor was assigned to play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.## Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, Veer Daudle Saat was announced to release on Diwali 2023 but it was reported in September last year that the movie was postponed and since then, there have been no concrete updates about the same. ## Now, according to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the film's shoot has been halted due to budget issues. It is said that the producer Vaseem Qureshi is facing budget problems. Around 50% of the shoot has been completed and the remaining shoot will resume once things are sorted out. ## Mahesh Manjrekar directs Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat which also stars his son Satya along with Pravin Tarde, Jay Dudhane, Hardik Joshi, Vishal Nikam, Utkarsh Shinde and Virat Madke. Mumbai, July 15 - The box office record of all-time blockbuster "Sairat" might be in danger as the latest Marathi sensation "Baipan Bhari Deva" is taking giant steps at the box office. ## "Baipan Bhari Deva" has become the 3rd highest-grossing Marathi movie of all time, and crossed the 50 crores gross mark on its 16th day. On its 17th day, the comedy-drama movie grossed an estimated 7 crores, which takes the total collection to over 60 crores (51 crores net).## The third-weekend collection of "Baipan Bhaari Deva" is looking to be on par with the second-weekend collection. By the next weekend, it will cross Riteish Deshmukh's "Ved" (73 crores gross) to become the second biggest Marathi movie of all time. ## It is quite historic that the second-week collection (29.60 crores gross) of BBD scored a growth of over 100% over the first-week collection (14.70 crores gross). The movie is expected to repeat the second week's collection in the ongoing third week, and this makes it the serious contender to surpass the "Sairat" lifetime collection in the long run. ## "Sairat", the only Marathi movie to date to cross the prestigious 100 crores gross mark, is directed by Nagraj Manjule. It was released in theaters on December 30, 2022, and has grossed close to 75 crores, becoming the second highest-grossing Marathi film of all time. ## The film has been enjoying its run in theaters for more than 3 months and credit to the makers for giving it enough time to make the most of it. It grossed over Rs. 100 crores at the worldwide box office and remains the only Marathi movie to achieve the feat to date. ## Now, there is another movie that is finding its legs in the record books. "Pawankhind", a historical drama film directed by Digpal Lanjekar and produced under the banner of Almonds Creations in association with A A Films, has been unstoppable ever since it debuted in theaters on 18 February 2022. ## Based on the life of Maratha warrior, Baji Prabhu Deshpande, "Pawankhind" has completed 17 days at the box office, and it has grossed a super Rs. 31.50 crores in India. It has stormed into the list of Top 10 highest-grossing Marathi movies of all time, taking the 7th spot (as of March 6) in the list.
