Mumbai, February 28 - After lending in the top five most-watched films worldwide in its opening weekend, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's comedy-drama Dunki remained one of the most-watched non-English films on Netflix for the second consecutive week. ## Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki scored 11.1 million viewing hours from 4.2 million views during the week of February 19 - February 25 and was the third most-viewed non-English film worldwide. The movie was made available to stream from February 15 and it scored 13 million viewing hours from 4.9 million views in the first 4 days. ## Dunki has so far scored 24.1 million viewing hours from 9.1 million views, making it one of the most-watched Indian films on the streamer in the first 11 days. Additionally, it is trending in the top 10 in 21 countries, including number 1 in India, UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Pakistan. ## Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Jio Studios, and Rajkumar Hirani Films, Dunki witnessed higher viewership than SRK's last movie Jawan which scored 8.9 million views at the same time on Netflix. Mumbai, February 27 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh marked his return to the big screen in 2023 with mega-blockbuster Pathaan in January, followed by ever-bigger success in the form of Jawan in September, and by the end of the year, the actor scored another success in the form of Dunki. ## Dunki was supposed to be SRK's biggest movie due to his maiden collaboration with Maverick director Rajkumar Hirani. However, the comedy-drama couldn't come close to the actor's previous two movies though it ended up as a successful venture due to a controlled production budget. ## Released during the Christmas 2023 weekend, Dunki scored approximately 29 crores net upon its Thursday opening but the film couldn't show much growth from thereon during the weekend. It still scored a good first-week collection of 160 crores net but due to the mixed word of mouth, the movie dropped heavily in the second week to around 46 crores net. ## Dunki competed with Prabhas-fronted action drama Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire and the holdover Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor. The movie, however, kept pushing at low levels and eventually was able to cross 200 crores net collection, which can be termed decent given the genre but a lot was expected from the SRK and Rajkumar Hirani combo. ## The movie also underperformed at the overseas box office with an estimated 182 crores. The movie had a good first week domestically with approximately 160 crores net, before it dropped a bit heavily, around 71% in the second week and now in the third week, it has another drop.## Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the social comedy-drama witnessed a drop of around 65% and scored approximately 15.25 crores net in its third week. The film has a good hold today though a collection with a couple of more crores would have been very good numbers. ## The total collection of Dunki has reached around 127+ crores net in 5 days and the first extended 8-day week is expected to be around 150 crores net. The advances of the film for tomorrow are decent but from here on, the walk-ins will be crucial.## Prabhas-fronted Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire had a big first 3-day weekend in India with over 209 crores net collection in all versions. Maharashtra and Delhi continue to lead the overall biz. Worldwide, it scored 58 crores gross collection, including approx. 23 crores overseas, which is fair given the mid-week release.## The opening of the Dunki while nowhere near SRK's previous two films is good considering the comedy-drama genre which is more about longevity (given WOM is positive) rather than being frontloaded as these types of films are not mass-friendly initially.## The Rajkumar Hirani's directorial is having a drop of around 25-30% on its second day for an estimated around 20 crores net collection and can go higher depending on single screens. The total net collection of the film after two days is around 49+ crores net which is good overall. ## The pre-sales of the film for Saturday are good which should ensure a decent jump and if the movie gets some support in the single screens, the Saturday collection can be higher than the opening day by a good margin.
