Box Office: 'Dunki' Second Day/First Friday Early Estimates
Mumbai, December 22 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's social dramedy Dunki did well on its first day and collected 29.20 crores net. Worldwide, it scored 58 crores gross collection, including approx. 23 crores overseas, which is fair given the mid-week release.



The opening of the Dunki while nowhere near SRK's previous two films is good considering the comedy-drama genre which is more about longevity (given WOM is positive) rather than being frontloaded as these types of films are not mass-friendly initially.



The Rajkumar Hirani's directorial is having a drop of around 25-30% on its second day for an estimated around 20 crores net collection and can go higher depending on single screens. The total net collection of the film after two days is around 49+ crores net which is good overall.



The pre-sales of the film for Saturday are good which should ensure a decent jump and if the movie gets some support in the single screens, the Saturday collection can be higher than the opening day by a good margin. The biz from Saturday to Monday (Christmas) should see an upward trend and then, it is all about maintaining a decent pace after that.
