Box Office: Vijay Sethupathi's 'Maharaja' Finishes With A Little Short of 200 Crore Worldwide
Chennai, January 5 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja missed out on entering the 200 crores club at the worldwide box office despite a superb run in China where it has become the highest-grossing Indian movie since 2018. ## Directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, Maharaja has been fantastic on the mainland, finishing with approximately 91.65 crores as the 10th highest-grossing Indian film there. The film was released on November 29 last year in China, and thanks to positive word of mouth, it kept climbing at the box office before running out of gas. ## Earlier, the blockbuster grossed approximately 107.50 crores worldwide and it looked like the China collection would take it past 200 crores gross. However, the film finished with a worldwide total of approximately 199 crores gross, which is nonetheless a blockbuster result. ## Maharaja has earned 83.50 crores gross in India and 115.50+ crores at the overseas box office. It is the 4th highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024, behind Vettaiyan (253.70 crores approx.), Amaran (333.65 crores approx.) and The Greatest of All Time (457 crores approx.).## Stay tuned...
