Box Office: Big Second Day For Vijay Sethupathi's 'Maharaja' In China
After grossing $633K+ (5.40 crores gross) in the premieres, followed by $550K (4.60 crores gross) on the first day, the Nithilan Saminathan's directorial venture breached the million dollar mark on Saturday (2nd day), thanks the positive word of mouth there.
According to the local box office platform ENT Group, Maharaja has grossed approximately $1.10 million (9.30 crores gross) on its second day, pushing the total collection to around $2.30 million (19.50 crores gross) at the Chinese box office in 2 days. It has crossed the 20 crore mark including pre-sales for tomorrow.
The film sold over 200K tickets on Saturday and the total admissions so far are 420K+ which is the highest for an Indian title there post the Covid-19 pandemic. The opening weekend collection is probably heading for 30+ crores which is fantastic.
The worldwide collection of Maharaja is now approximately 126 crores gross, including the Chinese collection and it will be breaching the 150 crores mark soon which is a big achievement. Depending on how the film performs during weekdays, the movie has a chance to go further which remains to be seen.
