Box Office: 'Maharaja' Scored A Fantastic Second Weekend In China
The film grossed approximately 23.40 crores gross collection ($2.76 million) in the second weekend, a jump of over 20% from the first Friday to Sunday weekend collection of 21.10 crores gross. This shows that word of mouth is super positive and the legs have solidified at the Mainland box office.
The total collection of Maharaja has approximately 64.25 crores gross ($7.58 million) after the second weekend in China and this makes it the 11th highest-grossing Indian movie there, beating Padman and Thugs Of Hindostan which minted around 60 crores gross each.
Maharaja will next look to down SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 (80.50 crores gross) in the third weekend to enter the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films in China. Depending on how it performs in the coming days, the movie has a chance to hit 100 crores gross collection in its lifetime run which will be a huge achievement.
Meanwhile, the worldwide collection of the film has crossed 170 crores gross, at around 172 crores gross, including the China collection. It is heading towards entering 200 crores club, depending on how things proceed at the China box office.
