Box Office: 'Vidaamuyarchi' Opening Day Early Estimates

Chennai, February 6 - Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar's much-awaited action thriller film Vidaamuyarchi was released at the box office today amid high expectations. The movie was also released in the dubbed version of Telugu as Pattudala. ## While the expectations were high, it received a mixed reception from the audience. However, the movie has done well at the box office as it is looking to score 22-24 crores in Tamil Nadu, as per estimates. Depending on how the offline shows perform, the final figure can go higher in the state. ## Apart from Tamil Nadu, the film is expected to score 6-7 crores gross collection in the rest of the domestic market for a total domestic gross in the range of 28+ crores on its first day. The opening of the movie can be called good, as word of mouth is not that great. ## The advance booking of Vidaamuyarchi for the rest of the weekend is good. Mumbai, February 5 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's iconic action-packed entertainer Main Hoon Na is getting a sequel with director Farah Khan returning to the helm the second part. The film was released in April 2004 and completed 20 years last year. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Farah Khan is working on a script that could serve as a perfect sequel to Main Hoon Na, which was the first film produced by SRK under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment.## The report states that Farah Khan wants to make the sequel with SRK. She has cracked the idea for Main Hoon Na 2, which the superstar loved. The filmmaker is currently working to crack the screenplay with her team of writers at Red Chillies. SRK is waiting to see the final script before taking the call. ## "SRK is clear to not make a sequel just for the sake of it and is well aware of the fan following that Main Hoon Na has among the cinema-going audience. He has asked Farah and his in-house team of writers to honestly work on the screenplay and come up with something that surpasses the impact of the first part", says the report.## If things go as planned, it will mark SRK's fourth collaboration with Farah Khan after Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year. The original movie also starred Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty, Amrita Rao, Zayed Khan, and Kirron Kher, among others. ## Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up to start action entertainer King with director Sidharth Anand. Hyderabad, February 3 - Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga rose to fame with this directorial debut movie Arjun Reddy (2017), a big blockbuster before it was re-made in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor as Kabir Singh which emerged as an even bigger success.## Arjun Reddy, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey, was unlike other romantic Telugu films with a higher level of intimacy. Both Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh were huge box-office successes but at the same time, they received criticism for the toxic portrayal of the characters. ## Director Sandeep Vanga, who attended the pre-release event of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi's Thandel on Sunday as the chief guest, revealed an interesting casting update on Arjun Reddy. The maverick filmmaker revealed that Sai Pallavi was the first choice for the female lead instead of Shalini Pandey, who won a lot of praise for her acting in the movie. ## The Animal director said that Sai Pallavi has been one of his favourites since Premam and he wanted to cast the actress opposite VD in Arjun Reddy. However, the director was rightly advised to rule her out by the Malayalam actor coordinator (whome the director later found as fake) as her personality is completely opposite to the character of Preethi in Arjun Reddy. ## It is widely known that Sai Pallavi, who has had a successful career so far, has refrained from doing intimate characters and has done more family-orientated roles in the movies. The coordinator mentioned that the actress would never agree to wear sleeveless outfits, let alone perform the romantic scenes required for the film. ## Vanga admired the actress for not changing since her early days despite becoming a successful star over the years. Mumbai, January 30 - Director Anil Ravipudi's action comedy Sankranthiki Vasthunam emerged as a huge blockbuster and Sankranthi winner by a long margin at the worldwide box office. The Venkatesh Daggubati-fronted has crossed 225 crores gross collection is heading towards 250 crores marks. ## Sankranthiki Vasthunam met with a unanimous positive reception from the audience, leading to its blockbuster success. The movie has exceeded box office expectations and ignited chatter about its potential remakes in other versions.## Meanwhile, director Ravipudi already has an action in his mind for the Hindi version. During a recent interview, the filmmaker shared that he wishes to remake Sankranthiki Vasthunam in Hindi with superstar Salman Khan. The director reasons that the subject of the movie suits the Sultan star. ## "I would love to remake Sankranthiki Vasthunnam with Salman Sir. He would be a perfect fit to play Venkatesh's role in Hindi. It's been a long time since such madcap comedies came up in Bollywood", the filmmaker said. Yash To Start Shooting For 'Ramayana' In March

Mumbai, January 28 - Superstar Yash is busy shooting for director Geetu Mohandas' gangster action thriller Toxic which is the actor's first film since all-time blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2. The actor also has director Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana which has been on the floors since last year. ## In a recent interview, Yash confirmed his participation in Ramayana, not only as an actor but also as a co-producer. Now, according to the report by Filmfare, the actor will join the shoot of this epic by March this year. He will start with solo sequences in Lanka, followed by the Panchvati sequence. ## As already known to all, Yash is playing the role of Raavan while Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi plays Goddess Sita. The film will be released in two parts, with the first part scheduled for Diwali 2026, followed by the second part on Diwali 2027.## Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios with Yash's Monster Mind Creations. Rai reunite for the next chapter of the Raanjhanaa world, titled Tere Ishk Mein. This marks the duo's third film together, including Atrangi Re (2021). ## Tere Ishk Mein, a heartbreaking love story, was officially announced last year and now, the makers have confirmed actress Kriti Sanon as the female lead. This is the first time that these two national award-winning actors teaming up to headline the film. ## The announcement of Kriti's casting was made with a teaser in which her character, Mukti, is walking through a running battle in a city holding a can of petrol. As emotive music plays, she douses herself before sitting down and sparking a cigarette with tears in her eyes. ## It is said that Kriti's role is one of the most iconic female leads in recent cinematic history in an emotional rollercoaster filled with raw intensity, layered storytelling, and moments that leave an indelible mark.## Produced by Anand L.
