Diljit Dosanjh's 'Jodi' Creates All-Time Box Office Record For A Punjabi Movie In North America
Los Angeles, June 28 - Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh's period romantic drama film Jodi has created an all-time record for a Punjabi title at the North American box office. ## Directed by Amberdeep Singh, "Jodi" has become the first Punjabi movie to cross the $3 million mark in North America, according to trade expert Jatinder. The movie passed this box office milestone a week ago and currently stands at $3+ million (24.70 crores). "Chal Mera Putt 2" is the second highest-grosser with $2.8 million, followed by "Honsla Rakh" with $2.7 million.## The movie was released on May 5, and upon its release, it scored the biggest opening weekend for a Punjabi movie in North America with $734K (6 crores) on just 125 screens, with a brilliant $5.75k per-theater average gross. ## The total overseas collection of "Jodi" is an estimated 34 crores gross while the worldwide collection is approx. 47 crores gross.
