Aamir Khan Confirms Superhero Film With Director Lokesh Kanagaraj
Mumbai, June 5 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj are officially teaming up for the first time. The project in question has been in the news since last year, when it was reported that the duo would collaborate on two films, including a full-fledged one.
Usually, Aamir Khan decides on his next film after the release of the in-production title, but this time, the actor already has a couple of films in the pipeline. He is gearing up for the release of "Sitaare Zameen Par", which is set to hit the big screen on June 20.
Recently, the Dangal star announced his reunion with director Rajkumar Hirani for the biopic of Dadasaheb Phalke, who is known as the father of Indian cinema, and now he has confirmed another project, this time with Lokesh Kangaraj.
When asked about a film with Lokesh Kanagaraj, he replied during a group interaction with journalists, "Lokesh and I are working on a film. It belongs to the superhero genre. It's a big-scale action film and will go on floors in the second half of 2026".
There were rumours that Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani also discussed "PK 2"; however, the actor has denied it and said it is just a rumour. Lokesh's film will start after Dadasaheb Phalke's biopic, which begins production in October this year.
Meanwhile, Aamir is also doing a cameo role in Lokesh Kanagraj's "Coolie", starring superstar Rajinikanth. It will be released on August 14 this year and will clash with Yash Raj Films' "War 2".
