Akshay Kumar's 'Kesari Chapter 2' Crosses 15 Million Views On JioHotstar
Mumbai, July 1 - Dharma Productions' biographical drama Kesari Chapter 2, starring superstar Akshay Kumar, has turned out to be a big success on JioHotstar. The movie was originally released in theatres on April 18 this year and was a success at the box office with close to 150 crores gross collection worldwide.



Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari 2 was released on JioHotstar after an 8-week theatrical run on June 13. The movie instantly caught the attention of the digital audience as it generated over 8 million views in the first 3 days. Even after the weekend, the movie continued to score on the platform.



As of June 29, Kesari 2 has garnered 15.3 million views in 16 days, according to Ormax Media. This makes it the most-watched Indian film of 2025 on the digital platform, among the films which first released in theatres. Overall, it is the second most-watched title of the year, behind Netflix's Jewel Thief (18+ million views).



The film won over critics and audience alike when it was released theatrically, as it was hailed as one of the best films of the year. Produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, the film is based on the life of C. Sankaran Nair, a lawyer who took on the British Empire to reveal the truth behind the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
