All Issues Resolved For 'Empuraan' Release; Pre-Sales Begins
As reported earlier, there was uncertainty over the release date of the film due to the internal tussle between Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions. It was reported that Aashirvad wanted the other studio to exit the film on its terms but Lyca disagreed for the same.
Now, as per the latest development, Gokulam Gopalan of Sree Gokulam Movies has stepped in to solve the issue and it is said that the studio has replaced Lyca as it has paid the required amount to get all the rights from the Tamil production house.
Meanwhile, the upcoming posters of Empuraan will still reportedly feature Lyca. The official announcement with new changes is expected to be dropped by today evening. Meanwhile, the advance booking of the film has commenced in the USA for the March 27 release.
Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran who also plays a key role in the movie, is the second instalment in a planned trilogy and is a follow-up to the 2019 film Lucifer. The film stars Mohanlal as Khureshi-Ab'raam / Stephen Nedumpally, alongside an ensemble cast consisting of Abhimanyu Singh, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Sachin Khedekar, among others in key roles.
