Mumbai, February 9 - In a watershed moment for the box office, the Chinese animated Ne Zha 2 has become the first ever film to score a $1 billion gross collection in a single market. The blockbuster sequel has achieved this rarest of the rare milestones at the China box office, doing this in just 12 days.



On its 11th day, Ne Zha 2 outgrossed the Hollywood blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens' domestic total of $936.7 million to become the biggest grosser in the single market. China, along with North America is the biggest box office market and both of them have 5 films each in the top 10 highest-grossing films in a single market.
