Director Mohan Raja Provides Exciting Update On Jayam Ravi's 'Thani Oruvan 2'

In the past, the possibility of a sequel to "Thani Oruvan" was announced but the movie couldn't be launched. The duo of Jayam and Mohan have talked about reuniting for "Thani Oruvan 2" on multiple stages, and it seems, things are finally heading in the right direction.

Last month, Jayam Ravi revealed that "Thani Oruvan 2" is taking to materialize, and now, director Mohan Raja has also himself confirmed the same. During the trailer launch event of "Soppana Sundari", Mohan Raja revealed that TO2 will definitely go on floors by late this year or in 2024.

It is said that Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara will reprise their roles from the original film in the second part which is said to be produced by Vels Films International. However, the official confirmation is yet to be.

"Thani Oruvan" was remade in Telugu as "Dhruva" with Ram Charan and Rakul Preet Singh as lead performers with Arvind Swamy reprising his role in Telugu. It was recently revealed that Mohan Raja and Ram Charan were discussing the sequel in Telugu and there is a possibility of developing "Dhruva 2" with the Tamil movie.
