Dulquer Salmaan's Long-Awaited 'Kurup' To Have A Theatrical Release In November

Mumbai, October 19 - Theaters in Kerala are reopening on October 25 after nearly 7 months. The announcement came as a big relief for the theaters' owners who got hit really hard by the covid-19 pandemic. In the absence of theatrical options, most Malayalam movies opted for direct-to-digital release via different platforms.



However, after the announcement of theater reopening the state, some of the most-awaited films are now gearing up for their theatrical release, and one of them is Dulquer Salmaan starrer crime thriller "Kurup". The movie is ready to release for months now and finally, it has been confirmed to hit big screens worldwide in November this year.



Entertainment industry tracker and columnist, Sreedhar Pillai took to Twitter and confirmed that Kurup will have a theatrical release first and makers have started booking theaters in Kerala through Dulquer Salmaan's production house Wayfarer Films.



"Kurup" is based on the life of India's one of the most wanted criminals fugitive Sukumara Kurup. Directed by Srinath Rajendran, the movie stars Dulquer Salmaan in the title role along with Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Sunny Wayne, Shine Tom Chacko, Sobhita Dhulipala, Manoj Bajpayee, and Maya Menon in the supporting roles.



Produced by Dulquer Salmaan under his production banner Wayfarer Films, "Kurup" was earlier slated for May 28, 2021, release in Malayalam along with dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada. It is written by K.S. Aravind, Jithin K Jose, and Daniell Sayooj Nair while Sushin Shyam has composed the music.
