'Dune 3' Gets An Official Title As Filming Begins
Los Angeles, July 10 - Director Denis Villeneuve is once again set to take the audience to Arrakis as he begins production for his much-awaited Dune 3. The final chapter of this sci-fi epic series will adapt Frank Herbert's Dune Messiah, but it hasn't taken its name as a title.
Director Villeneuve shared a picture on social media and confirmed that the third movie has been titled Dune: Part 3. There were rumours that the upcoming film would keep the book's title as it is, but it is not the case. Instead, it follows the titling of its predecessor.

The sequel to "Dune" (2021) and "Dune: Part Two" (2024), the film will cover the events of the 1969 novel Dune Messiah by Frank Herbert, the second novel in the Dune series. Other than the title, there were also rumours that the film would be entirely shot in IMAX, but the latest development confirms that it will have sequences filmed in IMAX, though it will not be filmed fully in the format.

Dune: Part Three will see Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya reprising their roles as Paul Muad'Dib Atredies and Chani, and joining them from the previous films will be Jason Momoa and Florence Pugh, with Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke featuring in the cast.

The film will be released on December 18th, 2026.
