Farhan Akhtar Remembers Milkha Singh On His Demise With A Moving Post

Mumbai, June 19, 2021: Legendary athlete Milkha Singh, who died due to the covid-19 complications on the night of June 18, was one of the most celebrated sports personalities. The Padma Shri awardee was the four-time Asian Games Gold medalist along with a Gold Medal in the 1958 Commonwealth Games.

In 2013, a biopic titled "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" was made on his incredible life, which introduced Milkha Singh to the new generation who was unaware of his struggle and achievements. With his demise at the age of 91, Milkha Singh has left a legacy behind him. Farhan Akhtar, who played the role of Milkha Singh in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, penned a moving post to remember him.

"A part of me is still refusing to accept that you are no more. Maybe it’s the stubborn side I inherited from you.. the side that when it sets its mind on something, just never gives up. And the truth is that you will always be alive. Because you were more than a large-hearted, loving, warm, down-to-earth man", Farhan wrote.

"You represented an idea. You represented a dream. You represented (to use your own words) how hard work, honesty, and determination can lift a person off his knees and get him to touch the sky. You have touched all our lives. For those who knew you as a father and a friend, it was a blessing. For those who didn't, your story was as a constant source of inspiration and a reminder of humility in success. I love you with all my heart", he added.

Many other Bollywood personalities such as Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Sonu Sood, among others also took to their social media handles to express their grief.
