'Jab they met': Shahid Kapoor's father-in-law was unimpressed

Mumbai, Dec 24 (IANS) Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor made a shocking revelation about meeting his father-in-law for the first time during his appearance on the 'The Kapil Sharma Show'.



The actor, who is promoting his upcoming film 'Jersey' with actress Mrunal Thakur, said that his wife Mira Rajput's father was unimpressed when he first met his future son-in-law.



Shahid says: "I coloured my hair at that time because in the film ('Udta Punjab'), my character was shown to be a little different. Mira's father wears formal shirts and pants and he has a very neat hairstyle, shaves every morning, like her (Mrunal Thakur) dad."



He continues: "When he saw me for the first time, the look on his face echoed thoughts like, 'who is my daughter marrying!?' 'What kind of a boy is he?' So, now when I go to meet him, I comb my hair properly and his eyes light up with joy."

The list includes films released between January 1, 2025 and July 1, 2025, that have an average IMDb user rating of 6 or higher with at least 10,000 votes. ## Determined by the actual page views of the more than 250 million monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide, all the top 10 popular films had a theatrical release. Of the top 10 titles, six are Bollywood films, followed by three Tamil films, and one Malayalam movie. ## 1. Chhaava (Hindi) - Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Maddock Films, the historical action drama features Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna in the leading roles. It was revealed that Shahid Kapoor has been signed on to headline Cocktail 2, taking over from Saif Ali Khan, who played the lead in the first film alongside Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. ## Now, according to the latest report, Rashmika Mandanna has been locked to play one of the female leads opposite Shahid in this love triangle sequel. This marks Shahid and Rashmika's first film together after the duo came close to sharing the screen in Anees Bazmee's, now-shelved, comedy entertainer. ## The second female lead of Cocktail is said to be Kriti Sanon who is a frequent collaborator with Maddock Films. The actress will be reuniting with Shahid after this year's hit romantic comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya which was also bankrolled by Maddock. ## Cocktail is written by Luv Ranjan and he will be involved through the entire creative process as a partner on the film. The script is said to be loaded with humour and light-hearted moments, centring around friendship between the trio.
