Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency' Censor Certificate and Theatrical Runtime Details Revealed

Produced by Manikarnika Films in association with Zee Studios, Emergency was reportedly censored on August 29 and it has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 27 minutes (147 minutes).

The official plot summary of the film states that the Emergency film is the depiction of the most catastrophic spectacle in the history of Indian democracy. Standing at the core of this is one of the most controversial leaders of all time the first woman prime minister of India MRS. Indira Gandhi.

As said, the movie is based on the true events of The Emergency in India, a 21-month period from 1975 to 1977 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had a state of emergency across the country by citing internal and external threats to the country.

The movie stars Ranaut as the former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi along with Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, and Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles as the different political figures.

Emergency will be released on September 6.
