Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Kaithi 2' To Feature All Lead Actors of The LCU

Chennai, October 14 - Director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Cinematic Universe has been the talk of the town for the last few years. All three films, starting with Karthi's Kaithi (2019), followed by Kamal Haasan's Vikram (2022) and Thalapathy Vijay's Leo (2023) have been huge successes at the box office.

In a recent media interaction, Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is currently directing superstar Rajinikanth's Coolie as a standalone movie, talked about the LCU. It is well known that the next LCU movie will be the sequel to Kaithi, as confirmed by Karthi and Lokesh on different occasions.

Without mentioning the name of the film, Lokesh raised the excitement of the fans by stating that the next project in the franchise will be a peak LCU film. He also confirmed that the next movie, supposed to be Kaithi 2, will feature all the LCU characters introduced so far, such as Vikram, Leo, Rolex, and Dilli.

Speaking specifically about Suriya's Rolex who featured in the climax of Vikram, the filmmaker said that he kept that theater-shaking cameo with a purpose and that he will do a standalone movie with Suriya in the LCU. It is likely to be the next after Kaithi which is expected to roll out next year.

Meanwhile, Coolie is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Indian movies of 2025. It boasts a solid ensemble cast that includes Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Sathyaraj, and Mahendran, along with a blockbuster cameo of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. The movie will be released in 2025 in multiple languages.
