California, March 11 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the 96th Academy Awards winners on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California with returning host Jimmy Kimmel.
Christopher Nolan's R-rated mega-blockbuster Oppenehimer, which was nominated in 13 categories, went on to win 7 awards, the highest among all other films. Oppenheimer was the second highest-grossing film of 2023 at the worldwide box office.
Nolan scored his maiden Best Director Oscar for Oppenheimer which also won Best Film award as well as Cillian Murphy for Best Actor and Robert Downey Jr. for Best Supporting Actor. Emma Stone won the Best Actress Oscar for Poor Things which won the second-highest number of honours with 4 awards.
