Producer Provides Latest Update On 'Kalki 2898 AD' Part 2

During a recent media interaction, producer Swapna Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies revealed that they have already shot around 30-35% of Kalki 2 during the filming of the first part. The pre-production for the second part is in progress.

The filmmaker also confirmed that Deepika Padukone will continue to play the role of mother in the second part as well. The film's story basically revolves around Deepika, a pregnant lab subject of Project K and the prophesied mother of Kalki who is the tenth and final incarnation of the lord Vishnu.

Meanwhile, the makers are planning the international rollout of Kalki 2898 AD in some of the remaining key markets. The movie has already been confirmed to be released in Japan on January 3, 2025, while talks are on for other country releases.

Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, the movie is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD and follows a select group who are on a mission to save lab subject SUM-80's unborn child, Kalki. It stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani, among others in key roles.

Kalki 2 is expected to be released in 2027.
