Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' Officially Confirms Day and Date Clash With YRF's 'War 2'

Chennai, April 4 - The box office battle of North vs South officially has a date!

Indian box office will breath fire when two of the biggest films of the year, Coolie and War 2 will take on each other during the Independence Day 2025 weekend after former confirmed its arrival on August 14 in multiple languages to meet the YRF biggie which is already locked for the same date.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie stars superstar Rajinikanth in the title role alongside Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR and Monisha Blessy in prominent roles while Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan plays a crucial cameo.

While Coolie will be a dominant force in South, Yash Raj Films' War 2 will look to dominate both North and South as it stars Telugu superstar Jr. NTR and Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan. The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is the sequel to 2019's blockbuster and the 6th film in YRF's Spy Universe.
