Ramayana Primary Cast Confirmed As Makers Unveil Epic Announcement Video
Mumbai, July 3 - Ending months of speculations and anticipation, producer Namit Malhotra has officially announced the grand cinematic adaptation of the epic Ramayana. Directed by Dangal fame Nitesh Tiwari, the film was announced on July 3 with a breathtaking video that revealed the primary cast and teased the film's stunning scale.



Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor will take on the revered role of Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi will portray Goddess Sita. Yash steps into the role of Ravana, with Sunny Deol portraying Hanuman, while Ravi Dubey is cast as Laxman.



Though only five actors were formally announced, the ensemble cast will also feature Kajal Aggarwal, Arun Govil, Rakul Preet Singh, Sheeba Chaddha, Lara Dutta, and Kunal Kapoor, among others, in significant roles in this timeless saga.



The announcement video itself has left fans awestruck with its cinematic brilliance. Produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus in collaboration with Yash's Monster Mind Creations, the video showcases a sweeping vision of the epic tale, brought to life with world-class VFX by DNEG and a thrilling background score by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.



Towards the end of the video, the makers also released the official first look glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Yash as Ravana. Designed specifically for IMAX, Ramayana promises to be a landmark in Indian cinema, offering an immersive experience of the sacred epic. The film will be released in two parts, with Part 1 releasing on Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 on Diwali 2027.
