Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 3' Eyes Independence Day 2025 Release: Report

Starring Sunny Deol, the first film "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" was released way back in 2001 and set to new benchmark for the Indian film industry before its sequel, "Gadar: The Katha Continues" took things a notch higher in 2023 to become the second highest net-grossing film in Hindi. And now, the makers are gearing up to bring the next instalment of the franchise.

The makers have already confirmed that there could be "Gadar 3", and as per the latest reports, the movie is indeed happening. According to a report in Dainik Bhaskar, the makers are planning to announce the next film early next year with a clear-cut strategy of taking the movie on floors around August 2024.

The report further said that the makers don't want to delay "Gadar 3" much unlike "Gadar 2" which was made 22 years after the first film. It is said that the team is eyeing to release of the third instalment on Independence Day 2025, two years after the second film.

Meanwhile, after the historic success of "Gadar 2", Sunny Deol is getting busy with several offers. The actor recently announced "Lahore 1947" with director Rajkumar Santoshi with whom the actor delivered some of the iconic blockbusters in the 90s. It will be produced by Aamir Khan under Aamir Khan Productions.

Apart from "Lahore 1947", Sunny will also headline "Border 2", and the shoot for the same is expected to commence next year. He also has "Baap" in post-production which will release next year.
