Sunny Deol's 'Ghatak' Gears Up For Re-Release
Mumbai, February 14 - The re-release trend in Bollywood is going strong with a couple of cult classics being readied for their big-screen re-launch. This formula is working well for the industry as a few films have turned into big success including the latest blockbuster re-release, Sanam Teri Kasam.
Recently, it was confirmed that superstars Aamir Khan and Salman Khan's iconic comedy Andaz Apna Apna, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, would be re-released in April this year. Now, Santoshi's one more cult classic, Ghatak, starring Sunny Deol is gearing up for re-launch.
According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the iconic action drama, which was a huge success in its original release in 1996, will be re-released in cinemas across the country on February 28. This is a tentative date which might change and the decision for the same is expected to be taken in a few days.
In its original run, Ghatak earned approximately 26.50 crores gross collection worldwide and was the second highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year. The film is remembered for its dialogues which emerged cult over the years and Sunny Deol's towering performance. It also starred Meenakshi Seshadri, Amrish Puri and Danny Denzongpa.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol will soon start promotion for his much-awaited action drama Jaat, which is scheduled to release on April 10. It is the actor's first release since the monstrous blockbuster, Gadar 2 in 2023.
