Sunny Deol's 'Jaat' Censor Certificate And Theatrical Runtime Revealed
Ahead of the much-awaited release, the makers cleared the censorship formalities on April 8. The film has officially been censored with U/A (16+) by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 33 minutes (153 minutes).
As per reports, the CBFC has asked to make 22 changes, including replacing abusive words and replacing as many as 10 scenes with CGI. Due to changes, 2 minutes and 6 seconds of scenes were cut and replaced with appropriate visuals, totalling 1 minute and 37 seconds.
The official plot summary of Jaat reveals, "In a remote coastal village, ruthless criminal Varadaraja Ranatunga terrorizes the locals. A traveling stranger's chance encounter with his men uncovers the villagers' suffering. Realizing the deep-rooted corruption, he takes matters into his own hands. Armed with truth and justice, he sets out for a final confrontation with Ranatunga".
Jaat stars Sunny Deol in the title role alongside Regina Cassandra in the female lead and Randeep Hooda as the main antagonist. Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, Ramya Krishnan, Jagapathi Babu and others play supporting roles.
