Suriya's 2D Entertainment Inks A Four Film Deal With Amazon Prime Video

Chennai, August 5, 2021: Tamil actor Suriya's home production 2D Entertainment and Amazon Prime Video have inked an exclusive deal. As part of this collaboration, the next four Tamil movies from 2D Entertainment will premiere directly on Prime Video worldwide, over the next four months, starting from September.



Interestingly, Suriya's last film as an actor, Soorarai Pottru, was also directly premiered on Amazon Prime Video and got a thundering response from viewers all around the world. The new deal includes films across genres produced by Jyotika and Suriya. In the four films that will premiere on Prime Video, Suriya starrer Jai Bhim, a legal drama, is also included.



Suriya said, "The past year has been transformative. Given unprecedented circumstances, we innovated on different models of release. Amazon emerged as the chosen streaming service for 2D’s latest film launches. From Ponmangal Vandhal to Soorarai Pottru, these beautiful tales found audiences and resonance not just in India, but across the world".



Here is the list of titles from 2D Entertainment, premiering directly on Prime Video -

Jai Bhim (November 2021) - Directed by Th Se Gnanavel, Jai Bhim is a murder mystery that highlights the story of a tribal couple Senggeni and Rajakannu who have great affection and love towards each other. It stars Suriya along with Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, LijomolJose, Rajisha Vijayan, and Manikandan in key roles.
Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum (September 2021) - RARA is a satire comedy film, directed by Arisil Moorthy. The movie stars Ramya Pandian, Vani Bhojan, Mithun Manickam, and Vadivel Murugan in key roles. This comedy-drama is about a village that is breaking news on all television channels across India, but the people of that village don't have electricity to watch TV. The movie will be the first in four films to release on Prime Video.
Udanpirappe (October 2021) - A family drama starring Sasi Kumar, Jyotika, Samudrakani, Soori, Kalaiyarasan, Niveditha Sathish, and Siddhu is next in the line-up to release in October. Directed by Era Saravanan, the movie showcases the epitome of unconditional love between the siblings, Vairavan and Mathangi who are separated due to differences in opinion.
Oh my doG (December 2021) - The last film to release on Prime Video in the deal, is Arun Vijay, Arnav Vijay, Vijay Kumar, Mahima Nambiar, and Vinay Rai starrer Oh My doG. The movie is directed by Sarov Shanmugam and this is a film for children that talk about their world, their desires, courage, friendship, unconditional love, bravery, and loyalty.
