Tamil Superstar Ajith Kumar Requests Fans To Not Address To Him As 'Thala'

Chennai, December 1 - Ajith Kumar, who will next be seen in the movie Valimai, has penned an open letter to the media, public, and his fans, requesting them to not refer to him as 'Thala' anymore, a prefix which means "leader". For over two decades now, fans have attached 'Thala' to his name since it was popularised in his 2001 film Dheena.



"To the respected members of the media, public, and genuine fans. I henceforth wish to be referred to as Ajith, Ajith Kumar or just AK, and not as 'Thala' or any other. prefix before my name. I sincerely wish you all a beautiful life filled with good health, happiness, success, peace of mind and contentment forever. Love, Ajith", he wrote. Ajith Kumar isn't on any social media platforms.



Ajith Kumar is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in Tamil cinema. Such has been his popularity that fans used to stand in queue for hours to get tickets for his movies. His next film "Valimai", which is scheduled to release on Pongal 2022, is the most talked-about Tamil film for a long time now.



Valimai is being directed by H Vinoth who had previously worked with Ajith Kumar in Nerkonda Paarvai. Produced by Boney Kapoor, Valimai also stars Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi, Kartikeya Gummakonda, Pearle Maaney, and Yogi Babu in important roles.
