The First Look Of Rakul Preet Singh From Ronnie Screwvala's 'Chhatriwali' Revealed

Mumbai, November 13 - In April this year, it was reported that actress Rakul Preet Singh has been roped in by producer Ronnie Screwvala for a content-oriented women-centric film, titled "Chhatriwali". While many reports later claimed that the movie has been shelved because of its bold subject, the "De De Pyaar De" actress recently confirmed that she has started shooting for the same.

On Saturday (November 13), Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies shared the first look at Rakul Preet's character, where she plays a condom tester in the social comedy film. It is directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar. The movie also stars Sumeet Vyas, Satish Kaushik, Rajesh Tailang, Prachee Shah Paandya, and Riva Arora in key roles.

"Bin mausam barsaat kabhi bhi ho sakti hai... Apni chhatri taiyaar rakhiye! Presenting the first look of @Rakulpreet in #Chhatriwali", the RSVP Twitter handle wrote in the caption and shared two first looks of the actress. The script is written by Tejas, Sanchit Gupta & Priyadarshee Srivastava.

"Chhatriwali" was earlier reportedly offered to Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday before landing on Rakul's lap. While Sara refused the film after the narration, Ananya and her team felt that the concept and the role were too bold for her. Interestingly, filmmaker Raaj Shaandilyaa is also working on a similar topic for his upcoming film Janhit Mein Jaari in which Nushrratt Bharuccha will be seen playing a condom sales executive.

Meanwhile, Rakul Preet has plenty of films in her kitty. She will be seen in "Mayday" starring Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan with Ajay directing it by himself. She also has "Thank God" with Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra. Then she has "Attack", opposite John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez, and "Doctor G" opposite Ayushmann Khurrana, and an untitled crime thriller film with Akshay Kumar for Pooja Entertainment.
