Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Declare Akshay Kumar's 'Samrat Prithviraj' Tax-Free In The State

Mumbai, June 2 - Akshay Kumar-fronted "Samrat Prithviraj" has been declared tax-free in Uttar Pradesh state by chief minister Yogi Adityanath. The movie, based on the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, is scheduled to release on June 3rd.

The movie depicts India's rich heritage and shows the valor of Rajput warrior and king Prithviraj Chauhan of the Chauhan dynasty, who clashes with Muhammad Ghori, a ruler from the Ghurid Dynasty who led the Islamic Conquest of Hindustan.

The decision of declaring the movie tax-free in Uttar Pradesh will help the movie gain momentum as UP is a big market for Hindi movies. Reports also suggest that the other states are impressed with the film and if all goes well, it might be declared tax-free in other Indian states too, especially in BJP-ruled states.

Yesterday (June 1), a special screening of "Samrat Prithviraj" was held for Honorable Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. The Home Minister appreciated Samrat Prithviraj and even added that it is a film that talks about Indian women and their empowerment. He especially thanked Akshay Kumar and director Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi for making this film.

Produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films, "Samrat Prithviraj" is the first film in the historical drama genre for YRF. It marks the debut of former Miss World Manushi Chhillar, who will be seen in the role of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan's beloved Sanyogita. The movie also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Manav Vij, Ashutosh Rana, and Sakshi Tanwar in other pivotal roles.
