Mumbai, October 13 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has taken a sarcastic dig at director AR Murugadoss, who made wild excuses for the failure of Sikandar. The action drama, which marked Salman's first collaboration with ARM, was released earlier this year and bombed at the box office. During the recent interview, ARM said that it was difficult for him to work on the film as he seemingly accused the superstar of reporting late to the sets. Though ARM also said that Salman used to come at 8 PM due to the security threat, his remarks didn't go well with the actor. Chennai, September 15 - Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan's psychological action thriller Madharaasi was released amid decent hype, but it surprised everyone by opening to better-than-expected collection at the worldwide box office. However, things haven't gone as planned since then for the movie. Directed by AR Murugadoss, Madharaasi had a good opening weekend worldwide with approximately 62 crores. At that point, the movie looked like a sure-shot blockbuster, but after the opening weekend, the pace had slowed down, as the movie had been struggling to reach 100 crores globally. In the second weekend, the maiden collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and Murugadoss has managed to gross only 10-11 crores worldwide, dropping by a huge over 80% from the first frame. The film's total collection through the second frame (10 days) is around 91 crores gross, including around 67 crores in India. Madharaasi will still be able to cross 100 crores worldwide, but it will take a lot of effort for the film to reach there. A milestone, which looked inevitable at one point, has become a mountain to climb. The early word of mouth suggested a positive reception, but the sharp downward trend has dampened the momentum. Chennai, September 8 - The rising Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan's psychological action thriller film Madharaasi opened in the worldwide cinemas this weekend. Despite the low buzz, the film managed to make a mark at the box office with a good collection in India and overseas. Directed by AR Murugadoss, Madharaasi marks his maiden collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan and a reunion with Vidyut Jammwal. Chennai, August 19 - Tamil director AR Murugadoss has been in the media headlines ever since his film, Sikandar with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, failed miserably at the box office and turned into one of the lowest-grossing films of the actor in many years. ## In one of the interviews, the Ghajini director reasoned that due to a language barrier, he couldn't properly execute his plans, which led to the downfall of the film. Now, a new report is circulating on social media where it is claiming that ARM blamed Salman for the film's box office failure. ## According to the many reports, referring to ARM's interview with Bhardwaj Ranjan, it is said that the filmmaker accused the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star of not coming on the set during the day, as they had to shoot the film only after 9 PM, even with school-going children. ## While it is true that ARM said the above thing, it is not entirely true that he put the blame on Salman. The filmmaker reasoned that due to death threats to the superstar (which are valid and genuine), they couldn't shoot the film during the day in open areas, and that is why they chose night schedules. ## Because of this unavoidable reason, the shooting of Sikandar had a lot of spot changes and involved CG work more than expected. However, the filmmaker's grand return didn't bring desired results as the film flopped at the box office, finishing under 200 crores gross collection worldwide. ## The film was panned by critics and audiences alike, and now, Murugadoss has come up with a weird and unwanted reason to justify the failure of the movie. During the promotion of his upcoming film Madharaasi, the filmmaker spoke about Sikandar and said that it failed due to the language barrier. ## He revealed that working on Sikandar felt like being at a disadvantage, as he described it as feeling "handicapped" on set due to his inability to understand Hindi fluently, saying he often didn't understand what was happening around him. ## "When we make films in our mother tongue, it gives us strength. We know what is happening here. Today, there's a trend going and suddenly the audience gets connected with that trend. When we shift language, we don't know what the youngsters are enjoying in that language.
