Aditya Rawal: I didn't get my debut film on a platter

Mumbai, April 22 (IANS) Young actor Aditya Rawal, son of the veteran Paresh Rawal, says although "Bamfaad" was a perfect debut film for him to prove his acting skill as a debutant, it wasn't easy for him to bag the project and that he had his share of struggle too.## "I am fortunate to have everything that I have dreamt of, but (I have it) after three years of struggle. Not that I have got everything on a platter, and perhaps that is why I value everything. I studied at NYU, auditioned, did theatre, and wrote stories. I have done everything that a struggler does in his initial days. So when finally my debut happened with ‘Bamfaad' I take it for what it is -- an opportunity to explore. I did not take it as pressure that comes along with a film, but as the chance to prove my skill as an actor," claimed Aditya, while speaking to IANS.## "Bamfaad" also features Vijay Varma, Jatin Sarna among others, and is streaming on ZEE5.## His co-actor Vijay mentioned: "Aditya is surely a talent to watch out. Being a Juhu brat, the way he played the character, Nasir Jamal, in the film, it looked convincing. He did not have the air of being the son of a veteran actor like Paresh Ji. We chatted for long films, and obviously the world cinema is our common interest area."## Aditya has studied creative writing abroad, so does it make him a better judge of a script? "Most definitely yes. I think studying scriptwriting and doing theatres in London and NYC has given me a better understanding of the craft. It will help me in the future to choose the right script. I understand the intention of a writer in the process of creating a character better," he replied.## Stay tuned...

Paresh Rawal: Was surprised to know my son has signed a film as an actor

Mumbai, April 10 (IANS) Paresh Rawal's son Aditya is all set to make his acting debut in the upcoming digital film "Bamfaad", but the National Award-winning veteran actor always thought that Rawal junior would be a writer because he had studied creative writing. The proud father, however, is emotional and overwhelmed seeing his son on-screen.## "The fact that he has signed a film as an actor came as a surprise to me. Aditya had an interest in writing. He is a very good scriptwriter. He writes dialogues and poetry, and I have seen how good he is as a writer. He went abroad and studied (writing), too. So naturally, I thought that he will write films. I did not know that the script he and the team of his film were working on over the past one month was actually his acting assignment! They were doing a workshop. But when I got to know it is his acting debut, I was surprised pleasantly!" Paresh told IANS.## He added, about the cast and crew of his son's debut project: "I know all these youngsters, and all of them are hard-working. Now that I know they put their heart and soul into 'Bamfaad', I really want people to love their work. My wish is not just for Aditya but for the whole team."## "Bamfaad" also features Vinay Varma and Jatin Sarma among others and is set to release on Friday on ZEE5.## While the trailer has received positive feedback, what was his reaction to watching his son on screen? "As a father, when I watched my son on screen, it was an emotional and overwhelming moment. I think he does not look like a debutant. His body language, expressions, dialogue delivery are all in control. He looks the part. He carried himself well as a character in the film. I appreciate that" Paresh replied.## "Usually in a debut film, we look for the potential in an actor. I think Aditya has it in him. As an actor, his basics are correct," said Paresh.## Does he see a younger version of himself in Aditya? "Not at all. Aditya's approach to a character and style of acting is way different from mine. He is methodical as a performer, I am spontaneous. These are two different styles of acting. I think we are also different as individuals."## So, what is his tip for Aditya? "I think we all emphasize hard work. What I told Aditya is, do your hard work as part of your preparation and unlearn it when you are acting. Audience tumahara hard work nahin, Ek film dekhne aa rahein hain (the audience is not coming to see your hard work, they are coming to watch a film). So, people should see the character in you and not Aditya, who is playing the character, or the hard work in between. It has to be seamless. You are an artist, not labor. Warna banawati lagta hai, darshak woh nahin dekhega (otherwise it seems fake, people won't watch it)," Paresh signed off.## For more and latest news about Bollywood, stay tuned with us.

Paresh Rawal's son Aditya: No fear of comparison with dad

New Delhi, April 8 (IANS) Veteran actor Paresh Rawal's son Aditya is all set to enter the film industry, and is prepared for the extra scrutiny and extra pressure that comes with the tag of being a "star kid". He says he isn't bothered about being compared with his father as he is so "far ahead" in his career.## Aditya will make his acting debut with the ZEE5 original film "Bamfaad".## Asked about the pressures that come with being a star kid, Aditya told IANS: "As kids of people, who are successful in the industry, we get a lot of advantages too. So we know about the trade-off. If you get those advantages, then you must be prepared for the extra scrutiny and the extra pressure."## "The advantages are massive, and then there is another side to it as well. My father is such an amazing actor and he's had so much success that I am not afraid of people comparing me to him because I know that I'm nowhere near that," he added.## Aditya continued: "My father is on another level completely. So, I don't really have the fear of being compared to him because you know, he's so far ahead. Personally, I've always been independent. So, for me, it's always been about my own work, and just doing the best that I can do."## Aditya was happy playing football professionally, till the time he realised acting was his true calling. Since then, he has been active on the theatre front, making short films and giving words to his visions and creative thoughts.## "My father was pleased (when he got to know my decision to act) because he had seen my college stuff. So, he knew that I had it in me. Even when I used to play football, I used to write poetry, write short films, short stories and all of that. He knew I had it in me. So he was happy that I was doing that," Aditya recalled.## He did get a piece of advice from his parents and that was never to get lost in the glitzy world of showbiz, and never lose perseverance.## "One thing that both mom and dad spoke about was having the perseverance and the resilience. It is a hard field to be in, you could take a lot of knocks. The idea is that no matter how many times you fall, you have to get up and keep going.## "Another thing mom mentioned was whether you get immense success or terrible failure, just make sure you don't forget yourself… That's something that I try to hold on, he added.## At the moment, he is looking forward to "Bamfaad". The movie, directed by debutant filmmaker Ranjan Chandel, will also mark the OTT debut of "Arjun Reddy" star Shalini Pandey.## Presented by Anurag Kashyap, the film about passion, friendship, betrayal, loss, and love will go live on April 10. Set in Allahabad to a romantic volatile backdrop, the film promises to "bring out an unusual yet raw and edgy love story on the screen".## Talking about the film, he said: "I am very excited and obviously nervous. The whole thing is in a bit of a surreal space, because you can't actually go out and talk to people or do the regular rounds of promotion that would have been done otherwise. So in a way, it is a special thing on its own."## Stay tuned...
