We wanted to be ruthless - Ajinkya Rahane

It was the contest between number 1 Test team India and newly entered in Test cricket Afghanistan. After being successful in ODIs and T20s, it was expected from Afghanistan to do well in the longer version of the cricket also. But unfortunately,, they couldn't make their mark as they lost by an innings and 262 to India within two days on Friday June 15.## On the other hand, it was India who was faverioute to win before going into the match against Afghanistan. But with the way they had won the match, shows that how dominating team India has became in Test cricket.## Even though India were playing without their star batsman Virat Kohli still they were ruthless. After crushing Afghanistan with bat, it took only two sessions to dismissed Afghanistan's batting and handed them huge defeat within two days.## "This feels really special. It is always an honour to lead your country and we wanted to be ruthless. Guys like Vijay and Shikhar got those hundreds, Rahul chipped in and Pandya was magnificent in the end. It was important for all of us to stick to our basics, create some good habits, but credit to Afghanistan, they were fantastic" ## "From here on it is only upwards and onwards for them. Their seamers bowled really well, especially in the third session yesterday (day 1) and I'm sure they will go a long way against all opponents," India's stand in skipper Ajinkya Rahane said in post match presentation ceremony.## However, it wasn't a good outing for Afghanistan as result didn't go in their way. But they will be hoping that they will take this experience going further.## "First thanks to BCCI and Afghanistan Cricket Board to have given us this opporunity. We didn't play Test match before this and we've learnt a lot. In the future when we play a match, we now know how to play a match against a full member nation like India" ## "Yes we were surprised by how quickly things ended because we were a good team. But Test cricket is completely different ball game, we have a lot if time in we will work on our weakness. A huge thanks to the crowd as well, it felt like we were in Kabul," said Afghanistan's skipper Asghar Stanikzai.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.

I used to Rashid's bowling - Shikhar Dhawan

It was a historic moment for Afghanistan as they were playing their first ever test match but it was Indian openers who grabbed all the attention. Both Murli Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan scored a century. It was Dhawan who stole the show as he became first Indian batsman to score a hundred before Lunch on Day 1 in a Test.## Dhawan was aggressive from the ball one and took all the Afghanistan's bowler all around the park. But his battle against Afghanistan's premier bowler Rashid Khan was the highlight of the Day 1.## Dhawan hammered Rashid Khan for 8 fours and a six in his 107 and didn't allow Rashid to settle. Dhawan credited his success against Rashid to his IPL experience as both the players play for the Same franchise.## "The good thing is that I had faced him [Rashid Khan] in nets for two years because we play for the same team in IPL. So, I was used to his bowling and that helped me," said Dhawan at the end of the day.## After Dhawan's dismissal, Rashid came with a better final spell of 9-2-15-1. But Dhawan feel that every batsman has his own approach to be successful against him and don't think they changed their approach.## "See each one will have different game," he said. "A team is formed of different characters - I am a different character, my game is different to what Vijay's is. Each player has his own qualities. Some people like to step out and play and some others don't prefer that. Each individual has his own game and play accordingly. My strength is to step out and play and I play accordingly."## Apart from Vijay and Dhawan, KL Rahul also scored half century. It will be a happy headache for Indian think tank as all three openers scored runs and are in good form.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.
