IPL 2019: Team Of The Tournament

Another season of Indian Premier League is just one match away from reaching to its conclusion. The final is set to take place on Sunday (May 12) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad between the two most successful teams of the IPL history and three times champions each, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.## Here is our team of the tournament:## 1. David Warner (SRH)## It has been a quite emotional season for the Australian left-hander who was making his comeback after missing out the previous season due to the Newlands' ball-tampering scandal last year. But he returned and returned with a bang. Smashing 692 runs in 12 innings with an average of 69.20 and strike rate of 143.87 including a century and 8 fifties. This year, he paired with England's Jonny Bairstow and both were quite sensational together. Even in 2017, Warner was the highest run-getter of the tournament with 641 runs 14 innings.## 2. KL Rahul (KXIP)## After getting a slow start in the first few matches, KL Rahul really took off and saw his 2018 version after that. Despite Kings XI Punjab not making to the playoffs just like the previous season, Rahul has had an impressive season with the bat. He smashed 593 runs in 14 innings with an average of 53.91 and strike rate of 135.38. He managed to get those runs with the help of a century and 6 half-centuries.## 3. Shreyas Iyer (DC)## It's been a landmark year for Shreyas Iyer not only as a batsman but also as a captain. Under Shreyas Iyer's captaincy, Delhi Capitals reached to the playoffs for the first time since 2012. However, he couldn't take DC to its first final but did remarkably well to take a young side to thus far. He impressed with the bat as well and smashed 463 runs in 16 innings with an average of 30.86 and hit 3 fifties.## 4. Rishabh Pant (DC)## The 21-year old may have not matured enough but had won Delhi Capitals 3 or 4 matches singlehandedly. The second highest run-getter of 2018, Rishabh Pant smashed the second fastest fifty (18 balls) of the tournament. Pant scored 488 runs in 16 innings with the thunderous strike rate of 162.66.## 5. Andre Russell (KKR)## Not many have the power of winning the game from the almost dead situation unless he is Andre Russell. The IPL 2019 will be remembered for Russell's brutal striking. The big man from West Indies was in different zone throughout the season and made 510 runs in 13 innings with the strike rate of 204.81. In first few matches, his scores were 49* off 19 balls vs SRH, 48 off 17 balls vs KXIP, 62 off 28 balls vs DC, 48* off 13 balls vs RCB. Quite unimaginable!## 6. MS Dhoni (CSK)## When it comes to finishing the game, no one knows better than MS Dhoni how to do that. Against Royal Challengers Bangalore when CSK needed 26 to win off the last 6 balls, Dhoni nearly did something unthinkable as CSK remained just two runs short of the target. Well, on the bigger note, CSK will play its 8th final out of the 10 seasons they played and the skipper played an important role in that with 414 runs in 11 innings with an average of 103.50 and strike rate of 137.54.## 7. Hardik Pandya (MI)## One of Mumbai Indians' key players Hardik Pandya has emerged as the genuine all-rounder this season. He seems to be the only competitor of Andre Russell in terms of the strike rate. His best effort came against Kolkata Knight Riders when he blasted 91 off 34 balls in chasing 233. However, Mumbai Indians couldn't cross the line but by then, Pandya has already played one of the best knocks in IPL history. He has scored 386 runs in 14 innings with the strike rate of 193 and also been impressive with his bowling as well and picked 14 wickets in 15 matches.## 8. Shreyas Gopal (RR)## The only bowler to take the wickets of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the same innings on three occasions, Shreyas Gopal has been the biggest positive for Rajasthan Royals this year. He is also the contender of the emerging player of the tournament. In 14 matches, Gopal picked 20 wickets including the hat-trick against RCB.## 9. Imran Tahir (CSK)## With one of the trademark celebrations after taking the wicket, Imran Tahir has played an important role in CSK's success this year. His economy rate (6.65) has been one of the best in IPL 2019. In 16 matches so far, Tahir has picked 24 wickets and only behind his fellow countryman Kagiso Rabada.## 10. Kagiso Rabada (DC)## The champion bowler from South Africa is the leading wicket-taker with 25 wickets in 12 matches. The world saw his brilliance when he defended 10 runs against the likes of Russell in the super over. However, an injury ended his memorable season with DC but he ensured that DC reached to the playoffs for the first time since 2012.## 11. Jasprit Bumrah (MI)## No playing XI is complete without Jasprit Bumrah who's brilliance with new balls as well as in the death is unbelievable. It was Bumrah who played the biggest part in Mumbai Indians' title triumph against Chennai Super Kings with the figures of 4-0-14-2. Mumbai Indians were restricted to below par total but Bumrah, with his brilliance in the death overs denied CSK to win as MI completed narrowest 1-run win to lift the title for the record 4th time. Bumrah ended the season with 19 wickets in 16 matches with an outstanding economy of 6.63.## Follow for more...

With 53 runs needed in 3 overs, most of the batsmen would have given up but not Andre Russell who proved this target a child's play for him. KKR - 5 Players To Watch Out For In IPL 2019

The two-time champions and one of the semi-finalists last year, Kolkata Knight Riders have seen so many changes over the last 12 years of IPL. There is an emotional connection as well that make KKR different team from the others. From their most beloved son Sourav Ganguly to Dinesh Karthik, KKR has had their ups and downs. After getting nothing in first three years of the tournament, KKR cuts the ties with Ganguly and handed the captaincy to Gautam Gambhir who won them 2 titles in first years of his captaincy term and became the synonym of KKR.## In 2018, Dinesh Karthik was handed the captaincy and did well to take KKR to the playoffs in his first term as captain. Though KKR has some high-class batsman in Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa, and Dinesh Karthik, their strongest link has always been their bowling that will again lead by Kuldeep Yadav and Sunil Narine, two world-class spinners along with the pacers like Lockie Ferguson, and Andre Russell.## Keeping the injuries aside, KKR is looking strong enough to make to the top four again. However, we understand that there are five players who will decide the fate of the KKR and can turn the match on single-handedly on any day.## Here is the list of the 5 players to watch out for in IPL 2019 (KKR):## 1. Chris Lynn (Batsman) - A strong bottom hand batsman who can take even the best of a bowler on any day, Chris Lynn is one of the most accomplished batsmen in Australia. In Big Bash League, Australia crowd know him as the best hitter of the cricket ball. He has become KKR's number one choice of a foreign batsman and has been sensational as an opener in the last couple of seasons and KKR would be hoping him continue that form in 2019 as well.## A statical view of his IPL career## YearMatchesInningsRunsH.S.10050S.R. 2018 16 16 491 74 0 3 130.23 Overall 28 28 875 93 0 6 141.13 ## 2. Shubman Gill (Batsman) - According to Virat Kohli "He was not even 20% of what Shubman Gill at this stage". Well, it is nothing sort of the biggest compliment Gill can ever get from the world's best batsman himself. The player of the tournament of India's U-19 world cup title triumph last year, Gill made his IPL debut last year and was impressive in phases. With the experience of the last year, he is going to play the key role this year for the KKR.## A statical view of his IPL career## YearMatchesInningsRunsH.S.10050S.R. 2018 13 11 203 57* 0 1 146.04 ## 3. Andre Russell (All-Rounder) - A typical West Indian player, Andre Russell is a bustling pacer and a powerful lower middle-order batsman too. He has one of the best strike rates in IPL. His ability to change the game on his terms makes him the player to watch out for in this year's Indian Premier League.## A statical view of his IPL career (Batting)## YearMatchesInningsRunsH.S.10050S.R. 2018 16 14 316 88* 0 1 184.79 Overall 50 39 890 88* 0 4 177.29 ## Bowling## YearMatchesInningsWicketsBBI5-WicketsEcon 2018 16 15 13 - 0 9.38 Overall 50 49 44 4/20 0 8.75 ## 4. Lockie Ferguson (Bowler) - On pacy Eden Gardens pitch, Lockie Ferguson can trouble any batsman with his serious pacy deliveries. After making his IPL debut in 2017, Ferguson could only play 4 games and didn't play in last season. But he has the edge of the extra Pace that makes him a player to watch out for.## A statical view of his IPL career## YearMatchesInningsWicketsBBI5-WicketsEcon 2018 - - - - - - Overall 4 4 3 2/7 0 7.15 ## 5. Sunil Narine (All-Rounder) - Sunil Narine is a bowler who can bat and bat well. After Gautam Gambhir promoted him as an opener, he has become one of the most valuable players in IPL history. KKR is lucky enough to have both Russell and Narine who have strike rate over 170 in IPL and both are equally effective with the ball. No wonder he has become KKR's integral part along with Russell and Lynn.## A statical view of his IPL career (Batting)## YearMatchesInningsRunsH.S.10050S.R. 2018 16 16 357 75 0 2 189.89 Overall 98 48 628 75 0 3 168.82 ## Bowling## YearMatchesInningsWicketsBBI5-WicketsEcon 2018 16 16 17 - 0 7.65 Overall 98 97 112 5/19 1 6.54 ## Follow for more...

He was dropped out by Jason Roy on 6 and that proved to be the turning point of the match as he took charge on Mohammed Shami and hit six sixes to him. Billings Powers CSK Home, Despite Russell's Thunder

It was a night of raining sixes at Chepauk. Only once had a 200-plus target been chased down at Chepauk, and that was Chennai Super Kings themselves, back in 2012 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. It was something that Chepauk crowd was missing from more than two years.##However, CSK were needed a solid start to chase this total down. Shane Watson and Ambati Rayadu did exactly same as they came off to a flier and completes team fifty in just 3.4 overs, KKR's spinner Kuldeep Yadav and Sunil Narine did bring the visitors back in the game. But it turned out to be Sam Billings day as his blitzing 23-ball 56 helped the hosts chase the huge total down with one ball to spare.##Earlier, after winning the toss, CSK put KKR to bat first. KKR seemed to be in complete control before CSK turned the table around when KKR lost three wickets in space of 11 deliveries. But wasn't last for long as it took for Russell to find the fence was two deliveries. It took 11 deliveries for Russell to hit first six and that took him off, in next 8 balls, Russell hit 5 sixes-two off Bravo, two off Shardul and one-off Watson. He reached on his fifty in just 26 balls. Bravo-the hero of the other night, his spell 3 overs 50 runs, proved to be a most expensive bowler for CSK.## While Russell kept targeting the stands, CSK didn't help themselves by feeding the power hitter with juicy deliveries. However, Dhoni stayed with his death over a specialist to do the job for him. But it just wasn't Bravo's day as his first three balls of his final over went for three sixes. His knock of 88* of 36 balls ensured KKR got over 200-run mark.##Sam Billings named Man of the match for his brilliant knock.##Tom Curran made his IPL debut for Kolkata Knight Riders and picked Shane Watson as his first wicket.##For More Updates And News, Stay Tuned To us.## Thanks For Reading.
