Marvel Studios Announces Cast of 'Avengers: Doomsday'

Los Angeles, March 27 - The Avengers have assembled once again, 6 years after Avengers Endgame emerged as one of the biggest grossers in history, as the filming of Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated Avengers: Doomsday has begun. ## On Wednesday, Marvel Studios surprised everyone when it announced the cast of the upcoming film during a nearly five-and-a-half-hour live stream. The cast of Doomsday has some surprising names, consisting of a mix of Marvel Cinematic Universe mainstays as well as actors from 20th Century Fox's now-defunct X-Men universe and upcoming stars of Fantastic Four: First Steps. ## The studio announced 26 actors who would feature in the upcoming film, and among the returning cast members from Endgame are Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Letitia Wright as Shuri, and Winston Duke as M'Baku. As previously announced, Robert Downey Jr. will be back as the villain Doctor Doom instead of Iron Man.## The cast of Marvel's upcoming May release, Thunderbolts*, was also confirmed with Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), and Lewis Pullman. The cast reveal further confirmed X-Men actors Patrick Stewart (Prof. X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), James Marsden (Cyclops) and Rebecca Romijn (Mystique).## They will be joined by X2: X-Men United's Alan Cuming (Nightcrawler) and Kelsey Grammer (Beast), who starred in X-Men: The Last Stand for 20th Century Fox and had a cameo in The Marvels. Members of the Fantastic Four are also in the cast, including Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (The Invisible Woman), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing) and Joseph Quinn (The Human Torch). Shang-Chi star Simu Liu and Tenoch Huerta Mejía, who played the underwater antagonist Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, are also confirmed for the movie. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel hasn't announced the cast of Doomsday yet. Box Office: 'Captain America - Brave New World' Hits $180+ Million Worldwide In The Opening Weekend

Los Angeles, February 17 - Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World had an impressive 3-day opening weekend domestically despite the mixed reviews and word of mouth. Overseas, the superhero movie came lower than expected.## The movie, starring Anthony Mackie in the titular role, matched or slightly battered the trade projection in North America, grossing $88.5 million over its Friday to Sunday weekend with 5.7 million Americans stepping out to watch the film, according to Deadline. ## The Brave New World is estimated to gross $100+ million over its 4-day President's holiday weekend (Friday - Monday). This makes it the fourth biggest Presidents Day weekend ever after Black Panther ($242M), Deadpool ($152M) and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ($120M). ## Overseas, the movie scored $92.4 million from 52 overseas markets through Sunday for a worldwide cume total of $180.9 million. It was projected to gross $110 million but it underperformed in China where a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon called Ne Zha 2 is going bonkers. China was still the biggest overseas market for Captain America 4 with $10.5 million. ## In India, the film also underperformed with an estimated $1.65 million. Los Angeles, February 12 - This Valentine's Day weekend is expected to shower love at the box office in the form of Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World, the first superhero movie of the year. ## Directed by Julius Onah, the fourth instalment in the Captain America film series had its world premiere yesterday (local time) and the early reactions are coming in as mixed. However, the film is likely to fly at the box office according to the trade projections. ## The Hollywood trade is projecting Brave New World to open in the range of $80 million-$85 million over a 3-day Valentine's Day and about $90 million - $100 million over a 4-day Presidents Day weekend. The film is more of a political thriller and projection indicates almost similar to 2014's Captain America: Winter Soldier which opened at $95 million in 3-day. ## Overseas, the Anthony Mackie-fronted tentpole is projected to hit $100 million - $110 million over a 5-day opening weekend, for a global opening in the range of $200 million which is touted to be superb for a new look Captain America film that is without the OG Captain America, Steve Rogers. ## It is the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie since the $1.33+ billion mega-blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine in July 2024, so the momentum is with the Brave New World. Marvel Studios 'Captain America: Brave New World' Box Office Projection Revealed

Los Angeles, January 13 - Marvel Studios's first blockbuster of the year, Captain America: Brave New World is gearing up for the big screen debut in February. This marks Anthony Mackie's first full-fledged Captain America film in the title role after Chris Evans retired from this duty. ## Directed by Julius Onah, the film hits the screens in less than five weeks, and the first box office projection revealed it is heading for an opening close to 2014's Captain America: Winter Soldier which opened to $95 million over Friday to Sunday weekend at the domestic (North America) box office. ## According to Deadline, The Brave New World, which is a reset of the franchise, is expected to do $86 million to $95 million over the 3-day Valentine's Day Day weekend and $100+ million over Friday to Monday over Presidents' Day weekend domestically. ## There is every possibility of bigger weekend totals for the film as Deadline reports that on the tracking service Quorum, Captain America: Brave New World has the most awareness of movies opening in February 2025 and those debuting in the same weekend. ## Marvel Studios rules the 4-day Presidents' Day weekend openers domestically with the top three with 2018's Black Panther ($242.1 million), Deadpool ($152.1 million) and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ($120.3 million). After Robert Downey Jr., Marvel Brings Chris Evans On Board 'Avengers: Doomsday'

Los Angeles, December 10 - Marvel Studios is re-assembling its OG superheroes for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday after seemingly closing that chapter in the last Avengers film - Avengers: Endgame, back in 2019. ## After officially confirming Robert Downey Jr.'s big Marvel comeback, this time as a villain, to play Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027), Hollywood media has reported that Chris Evans who played Captain America, is also returning to the MCU. ## According to the report by Deadline, the role of Evans isn't entirely clear at this point but he in the Captain America costume seems less likely. However, the report states it wouldn't be a shock if he reprises that iconic role as Steve Rogers though Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson character will also return as Captain America. ## It is not that Evans hasn't featured in the MCU title after Endgame, the actor recently had a cameo in the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all-time, the MCU's Deadpool & Wolverine, as his character from the Fox/Marvel early aughts days, which are also pre-Captain America: Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four movies.## Deadline has also reported that apart from Downey Jr., and Evans, many other Marvel OG superheroes are expected to return for Doomsday. Mumbai, June 28 - Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World is getting expensive and if reports are to be believed, it could end up being the costliest Marvel movie ever. It is intended to be the fourth instalment in the Captain America film series and stars Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America. ## According to the report by World of Reel, Captain America 4 initially had a budget of $275 million and was supposed to wrapped filming in 2023 itself. However, the movie went into reshoots after the unsatisfactory output and this has reportedly increased the budget by $75 million - $100 million to make it a $350+ million budgeted blockbuster, in the line of Age of Ultron's $365 million budget (unadjusted for inflation). ## If the rumours budget is true, it will be a massive task for Marvel and Disney to bring the audience to theatres in the numbers they used to before as there is no Chris Evans as Captain America this time even though the brand Marvel is still expected to pull things to some extent. ## There is no official synopsis as of now but Captain America 4 is confirmed to be the continuation of the Disney Plus series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021) starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, among others. Los Angeles, July 9 - Marvel Studios brings Nigerian-American filmmaker Julius Onah to direct the next installment of Captain America, starring Anthony Mackie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.## Onah is best known for the 2018 sci-fi horror thriller "The Cloverfield Paradox", and has also directed "The Girl Is in Trouble" and "Luce". "Captain America 4" will be his first Marvel movie. ## Mackie will be headlining the feature film, reprising his long-time Marvel character of Sam Wilson, but not, however, Wilson's long-time alter ego and Captain America sidekick, Falcon. This change happened, thanks to the events of 2021's Marvel's Disney+ series, "Falcon and the Winter Soldier", which saw Wilson finally accept the shield and mantle of Captain America. ## The shooting timeline for the 4th Captain America film is yet to be decided.
