Robert Downey Jr. And Russo Brothers' Mega Paydays For Next Avengers Movies Revealed

Mumbai, July 30 - Marvel Studios shocked the entertainment fraternity when it announced the much-talked-about comeback of Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to headline the next Avengers movies along with the director duo of Russo Brothers (Joe Russo and Anthony Russo) at the San Diego Comic-Con event recently.## Unlike what people might have thought Downey Jr. would make a comeback as Iron Man, the superhero character he has donned over the years since the inception of the MCU, the actor has been tasked to play the villainous Doctor Doom this time around.## Though the casting of Downey Jr. has garnered a mixed reception no one can deny the fact that it, along with Russos' directorial MCU comeback only gonna benefit Marvel big time just like the old days when they used to help Marvel print money at the box office like the back of hand. This, however, will cost Marvel way more than what it used to pay the Iron Man star and Russos in the past.## According to Variety, the Kavin Fiege-owned Marvel will sign a $80 million paycheck for Anthony and Joe Russo to direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars and significantly more for Robert Downey Jr. to tackle uber-villain Doctor Doom in the two tentpoles. ## The report further revealed that the Russos' deal with the studio doesn't include back-end compensation, but it does contain performance escalators that kick in at the $750 million and $1 billion thresholds. It is to be noted that the director duo is also producing the upcoming Avengers movies under their banner AGBO.## Downey Jr. has been by far the biggest paid member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Variety reports that the actor has earned between $500 million and $600 million for playing Iron Man. For the upcoming Avengers movies, the actor will get the perks that include private jet travel, dedicated security and a whole trailer encampment, other than his massive undisclosed payday, which is, as said above, way more than Russos.## Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret Wars are scheduled to be released in May 2026, and May 2027, respectively. Russo Brothers In Talks To Direct Next Two Avengers Movies

Mumbai, July 18 - In a massive but pleasant surprise, Joe and Anthony Russo, famously known as the Russo brothers, are in talks to return to the MCU to helm the next two Avengers movies, according to the report by The Hollywood Reporter.## It is to be noted that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton was originally set to direct Avengers 5 but he backed out last year after the movie faced major hurdles due to the controversy surrounding actor Jonathan Majors who was to play the centre role as the main villain, Kang.## Marvel Studios has been searching for directors to oversee the fifth and sixth Avengers movies for a long time. The studio had earlier reportedly reached out to Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy for the fifth Avengers movie, but he had turned the offer down in the past. ## The talks with the Russo Brothers are in the early stages and if they agree, it will mark a homecoming for the director duo who once was the biggest IP of Marvel. They have directed four of Marvel's biggest movies, Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), followed by Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). ## The four Marvel movies directed by Russos generated a combined gross of $6.68+ billion, including Endgame ($2.79 billion) as the second highest-grossing movie ever at the worldwide box office behind only James Cameron's Avatar with $2.92 billion. ## Meanwhile, the fifth Avengers movie, scheduled to be released on 1 May 2026, was originally titled Avengers: Kang Dynasty and was to star Jonathan Majors as time-traveling villain Kang. Priyanka Chopra Received Equal Pay To Her Male Co-Stars For Amazon Prime Video's 'Citadel'

Los Angeles, December 8 - India's international star, Priyanka Chopra revealed in an interview with BBC's 100 Women that she has received equal pay to her male co-stars for Amazon Prime Video's upcoming series Citadel. ## This is the first time that Priyanka is getting equal pay in her 20 years of an acting career. She revealed that in Bollywood, she used to get only 10% of what her male co-stars got to star in a movie.## "I've never had pay parity in Bollywood. I would get paid about 10% of the salary of my male co-actor", the actress said. "It [the pay gap] is large, substantially large. And so many women still deal with that. I'm sure I will too if I worked with a male co-actor now in Bollywood". ## Priyanka, who has worked in over 60 Bollywood movies, also revealed that she had also faced sexism and body shaming while working on Bollywood productions. "I thought it was absolutely ok to sit for hours and hours on set, while my male co-actor just took his own time, and decided whenever he wanted to show up on set is when we would shoot".## "I was called 'black cat' and 'dusky'. I mean, what does 'dusky' even mean in a country where we are literally all brown?" Chopra Jonas continued. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, "Endgame" marked the finale of Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) first chapter with the defeat of Thanos. ## The first Avengers movie was released in 2012 as "The Avengers", four years after MCU kicked off with Robert Downey Jr.'s "Iron Man" in 2008. The success of "The Avengers" tempted Marvel Studios to build its own universe which grew over the course of three Phases and the Infinity Saga finally came to an end with "Avengers: Endgame". ## It would take a number of individual Marvel movies before the next Avengers flick, however, Kevin Feige has put an end to the talks of "Avengers 5".
