Mumbai, May 10 - Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-fronted romantic comedy film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar continues to attract audiences, this time on the digital platform. ## After the big box office success, Luv Ranjan's directorial movie debuted on Netflix on May 3rd and was the second most-viewed non-English film worldwide during the week of May 1 - May 7. ## The movie scored 11.35 million viewing hours in its 5-day opening weekend, which is one of the biggest post-theatrical digital debuts for an Indian film. Previously, Alia Bhatt's "Gangubai Kathiawadi" debuted with higher viewership at 13.81 million viewing hours after its theatrical release last year on Netflix. ## SS Rajamouli's global sensation "RRR" had scored 7.18 million viewing hours in its opening weekend on Netflix in May 2022. Talking about TJMM, it is probably the second most viewed Indian title in the opening weekend on the streamer after the theatrical release. ## TJMM is trending in the top 10 in 24 countries, including number 1 in India, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, and Mauritius. Mumbai, April 27 - Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-fronted romantic-comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar has completed 50 days in theaters, a sort of achievement at a time when most of the films are not even lasting one week. ## Directed by Luv Ranjan, the movie was released on March 8 amid a decent buzz. It was touted to revive the rom-com genre in Bollywood which has over the years produced some of the biggest classic rom-com. It was not easy for TJMM to survive as a section of media and audiences were out there to bash it in full force. ## The movie found appreciation among the general audience, who without caring about the negativity thronged to cinemas and made it a box office success. Mumbai, March 7 - Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-fronted romantic-comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, which is releasing tomorrow (March 8), is seeing a good response in the pre-booking which was the case with the recent Bollywood movies this year. ## The Luv Ranjan's directorial has sold over 100K tickets for the opening day and there are still some hours left for the first show to begin. The advance booking of TJMM started only three days before the release on March 5 which is proving to be a good move. Though the pre-booking for the movie is not high flying but good enough for a decent to good start at the box office. ## The advance booking of TJMM is the second best for a Bollywood movie in 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan-fronted "Pathaan" which sold over 1 million tickets for the opening day in advance booking. The other notable release this year, Kartik Aaryan's "Shehzada" sold approx. 52K tickets and Akshay Kumar's "Selfiee" sold approx. 20K advance tickets for the opening day. ## "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar" is produced by T-Series and Luv Films while Yash Raj Films is the overseas distribution partner. Mumbai, March 7 - Director Luv Ranjan's first film in 4 years, romantic-comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor is finally hitting theaters worldwide tomorrow (March 8), more than 3 years after it was first announced in 2019.## Ranjan's last directorial, "Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety" was a blockbuster so the expectations are high from TJMM which carries bigger star power. Though a lot has changed over the last few years, TJMM is seeing a better response in the advance booking than the previous few Bollywood movies this year, also than the SKTKS. ## Produced by T-Series and Luv Films, TJMM has sold approx. 84K tickets worth approx. 2.50 crores as of 7 PM on March 7 for the opening day. The advances for the first day are expected to finish over 100K tickets, the second biggest for a Bollywood movie in 2023. ## Looking at the advance booking response, TJMM is looking to take a double-digit start as the opening day could be somewhere around 10-13 crores net, which is a much better start than Ranjan's SKTKS which opened at 6.42 crores net and went to score approx. 109 crores lifetime net collection. ## TJMM is releasing on Wednesday, coinciding with Holi weekend. The Morning shows might see a slow start on the opening day due to the festival but the rest of the day will behave like a holiday. Last year, Akshay Kumar's "Bachchhan Paandey" opened at 13.25 crores on Holi, and TJMM is expected to open in a similar range. The movie is scheduled to release on March 8, Wednesday on the occasion of Holi with a long weekend ahead of it. ## The movie is releasing after Bollywood got hit with two back-to-back flops in the form of "Shehzada" and "Selfiee", so there is added pressure on TJMM to break the shackle.
