Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar had announced in March 2019 that he will mark his digital debut with Amazon Prime Video web series 'The End'. He announced this action series in a special event where he set himself fire to give a sneak peek about the series. ## The series was going to begin in December this year but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Akshay Kumar's other commitments, the series will now be on floors in the mid of the year 2021. According to reports, Akshay will finish his pending work before begin shooting for his digital debut series.## Talking to a leading daily, producer Vikram Malhotra said, "The show was to roll in December tentatively, with Akshay joining us in January 2021. But, it has been four months (into the lockdown), and it will be a few more months before normalcy is restored. Akshay, too, has other commitments. So, we are hoping to get into production by the second half of 2021."## He also stated that 'The End' is not a project that can be tweaked and start rolling next month as other projects and films are doing currently. The much-awaited and highly anticipated biopic of the great mathematician, Shakuntala Devi finally premiered on Amazon Prime Video on July 31. Written and directed by Anu Menon, the biopic stars Vidya Balan as Shakuntla Devi, who was also known as the "human computer" along with Sanya Malhotra, Jisshu Sengupta, and Amit Sadh. ## Movie Story -## The story of the movie revolves around Shakuntla Devi and her daughter Anupama Banerjee (Sanya Malhotra). Shakuntla Devi who lived her life on her own terms faced many troubles and challenges on her way to becoming a human-computer. But when she tries to run her ambitions on her daughter who is similar yet very different from her, it leads to an emotional breakdown between the mother and daughter which will leave the viewers with moist eyes and makes the film interesting to watch. The film, however, is a perfect tribute to the great mathematician. ## Movie Review -## It is a Vidya Balan movie all the way and there is no surprise at all. She has been a perfect choice to portray the role of Shakuntla Devi and with no surprise, she produced the standout performance. It wasn't easy to play the character which has already its aura, but Vidya Balan breathed life into Shakuntala Devi's character with her award-winning performance. If you have watched Vidya Balan's previous movies, you will find that her nature is the mixture of emotions, and easy-going. That mixture has come into this movie and it did work brilliantly for her. She will leave the viewers with moist eyes when it comes to emotional parts especially towards the end. ## Sanya Malhotra as a rebellious daughter (on-screen of course) has done a wonderful and appreciated job. Her love-hate relationship with her mother is something that makes this biopic interesting while their chemistry is relaxing to the eyes which makes you laugh as well as left with teary eyes. It won't be an exaggeration to say that this is by far the best performance of just 5 movies old Sanya Malhotra. ## Talking about Amit Sadh who plays the role of Anupama's husband Ajay Abhaya Kumar done a pretty good job while Jisshu Sengupta as Shakuntla's husband also did decently well according to the narrative of the film. ## Anu Menon as a director has done a very good job and has been looked very clear about the vision of the film. She handled the emotional parts with maturity despite a lot of drama towards the end of the movie. However, as they say, a movie can not be made with perfection, this happened to this as well. The screenplay which makes a film catchable looked a bit slow. There are some sequences which stretched out that you will feel were not needed. ## Conclusion+Verdict -## Despite a few moments here and there, the movie is appalling and will make you watch with your family and friends. It is a well-made biopic with high-quality performances from the cast of the movie. But as a movie buff, I would have loved to experience this film on the big screen and I am sure you all must be thinking the same.## However, it is still a movie that you don't want to miss. The Sushant Singh Rajput death mystery got a twist after his father filed an FIR against Sushant's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and 5 others in the Patna Police station, Bihar. Since after, some shocking things have been revealed against Rhea and her family. ## Now, in a sting operation of Republic TV, Sushant's trainer Samee Ahmed has revealed some sensational details. According to him, Sushant became a completely different person ever since he started being with Rhea who was giving him unprescribed medications. ## "I spoke to Sushant on 1st June. He called me because he got to know that I lost my mother and he was talking to me about it and he told me if I needed anything, then I should visit his home, asked me to take care of my father. He was very close to me and my mom. But after 2 weeks I got shocking news…", the late actor's trainer revealed in the sting operation. ## Speaking about Sushant getting the wrong medicines he said, "The medication that the doctor was giving… even before the medication did he do any counseling session with Sushant? You need to do counseling therapies as well. If the doctor himself didn’t know about the counseling session, didn't know the root cause of his depression, then how could he prescribe him a medicine?"## After Sushant's father's complaint, Patna Police reached Mumbai and started their investigation. The Police also went to Sushant's bank to collect his bank accounts details after it was reported that several big transactions were made from Sushant's bank account for Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik's expenses. ## "With a balance of over Rs. 4 crores, 62 lakh in November 2019, Sushant's bank balance dropped to just little over Rs. 1 crore in Feb 2020, documents showed. In the line-up of movies releasing on the digital platform, Tigmanshu Dhulia directed Yaara premiered on ZEE5 on July 30. The film is a remake of the French film A Gang Story (2011) and is about the rise and fall of four friends' rustling operations across India–Nepal border.## Produced by Tigmanshu Dhulia Films and Azure Entertainment, Yaara stars Vidyut Jammwal, Shruti Haasan, Amit Sadh, Vijay Varma, Sanjay Mishra, and Kenny Basumatary in key roles.## The movie, however, is getting mixed reactions. Amit Sadh and Vidyut Jammwal are receiving a lot of appreciation for their acts in this crime drama while Sanjay Mishra and Shruti Hassan looked good despite the short screen time. A much-awaited and long-pending biopic of the Wing commander and former Indian Air Force pilot Rakesh Sharma is slowly moving towards reality after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag actor Farhan Akhtar reportedly put on board to play the ambitious role of Rakesh Sharma. ## The Rakesh Sharma biopic titled, 'Saare Jahaan Se Acchha' was first announced in 2018 with Amir Khan supposed to play the role of India's first-ever citizen to enter space. But he later dropped out of the film because of his dream project 'Mahabharat'.## After Amir Khan denied the film, Shah Rukh Khan replaced him to play the titular role before he too abandoned the project after his late 2018 release 'Zero' crashed at the box office. After SRK too didn't show any interest in the movie, it went on to many actors like Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and late actor Sushant Singh Rajput but nothing worked. ## And now, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the makers have approached Farhan Akhtar to play the lead role of Rakesh Sharma. While the talks are on, Farhan Akhtar supposed to start preparing for the film once he finished his current project. ## Farhan Akhtar was last seen in the movie 'The Sky Is Pink' that was released on 11 October 2019. The Sushant Singh Rajput death mystery took a dramatic turn after his father Krishan Kumar filed an FIR against Sushant's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and 5 others in Patna, Bihar. In a 6-page long FIR, his father accused Rhea of abetment Sushant for suicide and also alleged that she was controlling Sushant's bank accounts as well as his medical condition. ## Now, there have been some new revelations in the case. After the actress filed a plea in the Supreme Court to transfer the case from Patna to Mumbai, Sushant's family lawyer Vikas Singh has reportedly alleged that somebody in the Mumbai police is helping Rhea Chakraborty. ## Speaking to PTI, Vikash Singh said, "If she (Rhea) has moved the apex court, she should have filed a petition seeking CBI investigation. FIR is registered in Patna, now she has filed a petition in Supreme Court seeking stay and transfer of investigation to Mumbai. Isse jyada kya proof chahiye ki (what more proof is needed that) somebody in Mumbai Police is helping her."## He earlier had revealed to a news channel that Sushant's family had already filed a complaint against Rhea Chakraborty in February, 4 months before the actor's demise. The recently released Dil Bechara starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi broke all the viewership records for an Indian movie on the digital platform. Disney+Hotstar that premiered the movie on July 24 registered the highest ever viewership with 95 million views within the first 24 hours of film's release. ## According to a Mid-Day report, a representative for the firm, Ormax Media, believes the numbers are comparable to viewership figures of the massively popular HBO series Game of Thrones, although he didn't provide any further data.## "If one wants to, comparisons could be drawn of Dil Bechara, and that of Game of Thrones, and this was possible even though the latter had a pre-existing viewer-base, while the film [did not]. Then again, Hotstar promoted Dil Bechara from the onset, marketing its release date and time well in advance. Viewers showed up in unison to watch it", reported Hindustan Times. ## Apart from breaking the viewership records, Dil Bechara also becomes the highest-rated Indian movie on the IMDb. As per IMDb, over 75,000 people rated the movie while the overall rating stands at 9.5 which is the highest ever for an Indian movie. Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is all set to do his next film the Rock On! director Abhishek Kapoor. The National Award-winning combo will collaborate for the first time for an untitled love story film set in North India in which Ayushmann will enact the part of a cross-functional athlete. ## As per reports, the film will go on floors in October this year. For the role in the film, Ayushmann Khurrana will have to go through a physical transformation and he will be seen in never-before-seen avatar in the movie. ## "Ayushmann will have to undergo a physical transformation for this role. It's quite a challenge and he's committed to it", director Abhishek Kapoor told ETimes. ## "I have never attempted a look like this on screen before and I’m already looking forward to seeing the reaction of audiences.
