Hyderabad, November 10 - Pan-India superstar Prabhas and director SS Rajamouli's much-hyped magnum opus Baahubali: The Epic has topped 50 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, but this isn't what the trade had expected despite it becoming the first Indian re-release to hit the milestone. Baahubali: The Epic, which is a one-part version of the Baahubali duology, was carrying huge anticipation. With grand promotions, renewed marketing buzz, and strong nostalgia among fans, the film has managed to collect over 50 crore worldwide in 10 days — a figure impressive for most re-releases, yet far below the towering expectations surrounding this one. However, while the movie opened strongly in select territories, its collections dropped quickly after the first weekend, signalling limited repeat value among audiences. The grand re-release — including extensive 4K restoration, IMAX screenings, and a new marketing push — had created an atmosphere similar to that of a major new release. Yet, the 50 crore worldwide gross has highlighted that even an iconic franchise like Baahubali cannot fully replicate its past theatrical dominance merely through nostalgia. While the 50 crores mark globally still makes it the highest-grossing Indian re-release to date, the numbers fall short of high expectations that had pegged it to touch the 100 crore mark globally.
