Bengaluru, September 13 – The much-awaited prequel to Rishab Shetty's 2022 blockbuster Kantara is gearing up for its grand release worldwide on October 2nd in multiple languages. Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 is carrying tremendous buzz in the trade and fans alike, as it is expected to be one of the biggest cinematic events of the year. Ahead of the release, the film's theatrical runtime and plot details have reportedly been revealed. According to a viral social media post, claiming to be listed in a theatre chain, the film will run for 2 hours and 45 minutes, promising audiences another intense cinematic experience filled with myth, folklore, and spiritual mysticism. Mumbai, September 13 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's courtesy cameo in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's recently released Coolie seems to have backfired. The actor played a cameo role as Dahaa, a gangster, in the film, which didn't go as planned for him. While Aamir Khan called his cameo a big moment as he got to share screen space with Rajinikanth, the audience didn't resonate with this character, and called it one of the weakest parts of the film. Apart from the cameo, the Dangal star also confirmed a full-fledged superhero film with Lokesh Kanagaraj, which was supposed to start rolling next year. There have been reports that Aamir Khan's superhero film with Lokesh has been shelved after the criticism for his cameo in Coolie. Now, according to Bollywood Hungama, the duo has indeed parted ways, but the reason is not Coolie, but rather the script. "Aamir Khan and Lokesh Kanagaraj have parted ways on their next film. The real reason the project was shelved is the script. While Aamir prefers to have the entire screenplay locked much in advance, Lokesh believes in the idea of having a draft in place and writing through the process of shooting," says the report. It is said that Aamir Khan wanted Lokesh to fully focus on the script as he believed that it had the scope to redefine Indian Cinema. However, the director insisted on following his own process of work, which didn't go well with the actor on the creative front, and decided to part ways on a good note with the intent of collaborating in the future. Chennai, September 12 - The Tamil cinema is bracing up for a major box office showdown on Pongal 2026 after Sivakarthikeyan's much-awaited period political drama film Parashakti confirms indirect clash with Thalapathy Vijay's swan song Jana Nayagan. Directed by Sudha Kongara, Parashakti is reportedly based on true events, revolving around the Anti-Hindi agitations in Tamil Nadu that happened in 1965. On Friday (September 12), the makers announced that this much-awaited movie will be hitting worldwide cinemas on January 14, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal festival. Produced by Dawn Pictures, Parashakti was initially supposed to be headlined by Suriya, who backed out for some reason. Mumbai, September 12 – Yash Raj Films' ambitious spy action thriller War 2 has ended up as one of the major box office disappointments of recent times. It was one of the most-awaited films of the year, carrying the legacy of 2019's blockbuster War. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the movie promised high-octane action, cutting-edge visuals, and the first-ever collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Telugu superstar Jr. NTR. However, despite the hype and sky-high expectations, War 2 massively underperformed, not just at the domestic but also the overseas box office, wrapping up its run on a disappointing note as the second-lowest-grossing film in the YRF Spy Universe. Mumbai, September 12 – Japanese anime phenomenon Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is heading for a massive start at the Indian box office, after recording one of the biggest pre-sales in the country this year. The unexpected rise of the animation genre in India has been taken to another level by Infinity Castle, which has already become the biggest non-Hollywood grosser here with pre-sales only. Directed by Haruo Sotozaki, the film has registered the biggest ever pre-sales for an animation film in India for the opening day as well as the weekend.
