AK62: Ajith Kumar's Next Film To Be Announced On His Birthday

Chennai, April 30 - Ajith Kumar, fondly called Thala Ajith by his fans, is one of the biggest crowd-pullers in Tamil cinema. The superstar carries a passionate fan-following who waits patiently for his movies to arrive in cinemas. ## The year started with Ajith Kumar releasing his heist action thriller "Thunivu", which, despite the clash with Thalapathy Vijay's "Varisu", grossed around 200 crores worldwide and turned into a superhit venture. Now, the actor is moving to his next AK62, and the official announcement regarding the same is expected to be made in a day or two. ## It is well known that AK62 will be produced by Lyca Productions and as per reliable Tamil industry sources, the official announcement with the title of the movie is expected to be made today (April 30), on the evening of Ajith Kumar's birthday which falls on May 1st. The announcement might arrive in the evening or late at night. ## The confirmation regarding the director is yet to be made but there is a strong buzz on the film to be helmed by Magizh Thirumeni with Arun Vijay as one of the co-actors alongside Ajith Kumar. The movie is expected to go on floors by June this year. ## Meanwhile, according to Pinkvilla, the renowned cinematographer Nirav Shah is filming a documentary on Ajith Kumar's world tour. Chennai, August 28 - Actor Arun Vijay's long-awaited spy action thriller Borrder is finally coming to the big screen after getting delayed for more than a year. Directed by Arivazhagan Venkatachalam, "Border" will hit worldwide theaters on October 5, 2022, on the occasion of Vijayadashami. ## The announcement of the film's release date was made on August 27 with a new poster. The movie has huge expectations riding on it as the combination of director Arivazhagan and actor Arun Vijay has managed to deliver back-to-back successes.## The actor and director first collaborated on the medico-crime thriller "Kuttram 23", which became a super hit. The recently-released web series "Tamil Rockerz" again saw the director and actor working together. Mumbai, October 15 - On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, two of the most anticipated Hindi remakes of the Tamil blockbuster movies, "Vikram Vedha" and "Thadam" have started filming. Both "Vikram Vedha" and "Thadam", went through some big changes before makers finally took the films on floors on October 15. ## Vikram Vedha is a gangster cop drama film that stars Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles along with Rohit Saraf and Radhika Apte. Hrithik steps in the shoes of Vijay Sethupathi from the original film and plays a gangster while Saif Ali Khan reprises R Madhavan's role of a cop. Mumbai, August 14, 2021: Earlier in January this year, Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi announced that he be starring in a silent feature film, Gandhi Talks. He teamed up with Marathi filmmaker Kishor Pandurang Belekar, who's known for directing award-winning theatre plays and films like Sa Sasucha (2010) and Yeda (2013). ## Now, the latest development is that Padmavat actress Aditi Rao Hydari has reportadly been cast to play the leading lady in this ambitious venture. The film is said to be a dark comedy with elements from Mahatma Gandhi's principles as the backdrop. It depicts the harsh realities of today's times and how Gandhi has become a prime witness of everything that he stood against. ## Gandhi Talks will be produced by Zee Studios in association with Movie Mill Entertainment. Chennai, August 5, 2021: Tamil actor Suriya's home production 2D Entertainment and Amazon Prime Video have inked an exclusive deal. As part of this collaboration, the next four Tamil movies from 2D Entertainment will premiere directly on Prime Video worldwide, over the next four months, starting from September. ## Interestingly, Suriya's last film as an actor, Soorarai Pottru, was also directly premiered on Amazon Prime Video and got a thundering response from viewers all around the world. The new deal includes films across genres produced by Jyotika and Suriya. In the four films that will premiere on Prime Video, Suriya starrer Jai Bhim, a legal drama, is also included. ## Suriya said, "The past year has been transformative. This comedy-drama is about a village that is breaking news on all television channels across India, but the people of that village don't have electricity to watch TV. It's Official: Aditya Roy Kapur To Headline Hindi Remake Of Tamil Blockbuster Thadam

Mumbai, July 29, 2021: Last year, on March 4, Kabir Singh producer Murad Khetani announced his next film as the Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster Thadam, in association with Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. However, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the movie couldn't go on floors as scheduled in May.## The film that was supposed to be headlined by Sidharth Malhotra and Mrunal Thakur finally went on floors in November last year with major changes. However, earlier this year, Sidharth did object to the new screenplay which resulted in, the actor opted out of the movie that put a brake on the further proceedings.## And now, Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani have roped in Aditya Roy Kapur, as reported earlier, in the remake of Arun Vijay starrer. The Hindi remake of Thadam will be directed by debutant Vardhan Ketkar and it will go on floors in September this year. Apart from Adi, Mrunal said to remain a part of the cast as the female lead. This will also be Aditya's first double role ever. ## "I am excited and inspired to be a part of telling such an interesting story. The original film was incredibly riveting and entertaining, and it left a lasting impression on me. As an actor, getting a chance to do a double role is double the preparation and double the challenge, and I'm certainly up for it. We all mutually agreed he will fit the characters in this as well".## Since the release of Thadam in 2019, producer Murad Khetani was keen to make the film for the Hindi audience. Talking about the film he shared, "When I watched Thadam I instantly knew that this story needs to reach the masses. Soon after I reached out to the Tamil makers and acquired the rights of making this film in Hindi. When I shared the story with Bhushanji, he came on board immediately. Aditya Roy Kapur To Replace Sidharth Malhotra In The Thadam Hindi Remake?

However, earlier this year, Sidharth did object to the new screenplay which resulted in, the actor opted out of the movie that put a brake on the further proceedings. ## Now, the remake of Thadam is back on track again as makers have reportedly locked Aditya Roy Kapur to play the lead. "Aditya Roy Kapur has been locked in to play the hero now. It's an action-packed film which will have double roles. This will also be Aditya's first double role ever. When Sid opted out, they were on the lookout for a good-looking hero who's fantastic with action. Apart from Adi, Mrunal remains part of the cast", said a source. ## Aditya Roy Kapur is currently busy filming for his next, Om - The Battle Within, with producer Ahmed Khan. Once he wrapped up Om, he will begin the Thadam remake sometime this year. He will be reprising the role of Arun Vijay from the original Thadam. ## Talking about the original Thadam, it is directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Inder Kumar. The movie starred Arun Vijay in a double role along with Tanya Hope and Vidya Pradeep. It was released on 1 March 2019 and was a box office success.
